It stretches across two stories, there's a chance that it'll find its way to a third, and it reads as 'Here comes the problem.' In the case of Duet, it's been steadily ratcheting up the tension until it feels like something has to break. For Cerea... her mere presence means something may be very wrong, and this chapter ends on the first new signal that there may be some level of issue on the distant horizon.
About 6300 words on this one, and I'm debating whether this is going to turn into an all-update month. It's not impossible to have a second chapter appear for this story before October hits, and I'd like to do something with Anchor Foal. But at the same time, it feels like one fresh short story wouldn't be out of place. And I have an idea for one, I got the first thousand words written, and then... I just stalled out. So maybe it wasn't the best idea, or I just wasn't in a place to tackle it on that day.
Ultimately, we'll see how it goes.
If nothing else, I could try to see it as having a thousand-word head start.
