Third update: A Duet For Land And Sky

This is starting to feel like the final push on Triptych, at least in the sense that part of me wants to try and get it done before the end of the month. It means the other two continuing stories have to wait for a little while, along with postponing a few one-shot ideas -- I've been thinking about showing a day at work for the Doctors Bear -- but I'm feeling a need to wrap this one up in October.

After all, once this story is over, we can start to think about what happens next.

About 6600 words in this update, but they wound up being divided between two chapters: I once again found myself with a natural break point and didn't want to pass it up. And for the record? I think there's two more chapters to go. (It could wind up being three, but that's probably the max.) There's a few more things which need to happen, scenes that must appear before we can call this one finished, and... they're going to wind up occupying a certain amount of space. Because this has been a story where things change. Where the status quo shatters, the call of the AU tag becomes a little louder, and nothing can ever go back to what it was before.

And when regarded from that viewpoint, we're not quite done yet.
