New one-shot story: FlutterDoomshy

This story arose from a discussion in the Discord chat server, and the talk was about one of the most frequent problems with crossovers: namely, that a lot of inexperienced writers are just looking at the Cool! factor. Wouldn't it be great to have those characters get together? Isn't that just one of the most awesome things ever? They're in the same world! Now let's see what happens!
And there's the problem. Because a lot of those inexperienced authors, having put their desired characters on the same stage, don't know what happens. They may have thought that just having them associate was enough for Plot to arise. And that isn't necessarily so. Even with the strangest -- or most mundane -- of meetings, you need two things: a reason for those parties to be together, and something they can do.
It also helps if they have something in common.
And in the course of that discussion... this is the crossover I proposed.
So. Fluttershy and Doomguy. Why are they together? What activities can they share? And what do they have in common?
Some of you have already guessed. But for the rest... I promise it's in there. 7700 words (plus a bit), and it won't take all that long to find out.
