The last posting for the month (and we're going to talk about 'Six per cycle: stupid idea or really stupid idea?' in the blog soon) wound up operating on something of a push off/pull in cycle. For the last few days, I've been feeling tired. A little sick and my temperature is normal so no one panic. And because I had already gotten to four postings, I thought I could take a little time, waiting until I felt better before trying for the last.
And then I saw the weather forecast.
The short version: the 31st is a storm. High winds, possibly over a foot of snow in the hours before it passes -- and it may not phase out of here for a day and a half. So not only could I not risk deadline pressure, I had the very real possibility of seeing my power knocked out before the last hours counted down.
My notes had been transcribed into the New Chapter page for a while. I had to go for it today.
So now I can exhale a little as January runs out -- if not for everything which has been going on in my life (again, blog going up soon) and having to dread a foot-plus of snow plus possible power outage. But at least I won't be racing the clock, and 9100 words have brought Cerea into the next phase of her story.
Two last things before I make sure I know where my towel is. (And shovel. I'm gonna need a shovel.)
* I put up a new microfic on World's Shortest Crossovers. (At a mere 501 words, it's a freebie.)
* No one in this neighborhood will shovel out my car in exchange for money.
No. One.
This is not a high-ambition neighborhood.
