I wanted Fleur to go first this month for one major reason: we wrapped April on a cliffhanger, and ponies don't exactly have fingers. A jaw grip on the edge of rock isn't something you want to maintain long-term.
Compared to previous recent entries, this chapter ran long: we're just short of 11k, and that's because I ran into The Revenge Of The Natural Chapter Break. There are ways in which the latest update closes out the current stage of the story and sets up the next: given that, I wanted to make sure everything which could be resolved before stopping was. Sometimes the pace of the tale tells me to stop, and there are others where it feels like I need to press on.
Either way, it counts for a single pledge charge.
The current plan is to try and post the next creation on Monday. (This may be a one-shot.) After that, Tuesday is when I'm getting my second vaccine shot -- Moderna -- and I am giving up on Wednesday through next Friday in advance, because I am familiar with my own luck and there are times when my arm still hurts. It's slightly reasonable to expect a bad reaction. I'm just hoping I'm past it by next weekend.
So I've made a plan.
Listen closely. You may be able to hear a deity laughing.
