'I didn't want to leave you hanging, so I decided to leave you hanging.'
I know some people have been anticipating at least one of the ways in which this chapter ends, and... well, after seeing the Comments section on the previous chapter, I just wanted everyone to move into fighting about something else.
So the fifth post of June is 9800 more words into this story. It also closes out the semi-saga of the mill, and I can only hope that someone appreciates the moment when it all tries to come together. But it also ends on, if not a cliffhanger, then a rather abrupt moment. One which asks for followup.
I'm not likely to try for six postings in June: to that extent, the next chapter has to wait. But this story is in endgame. And that means that we're looking at a similar situation to Triptych and Duet. The last push.
I'd like to make July into Anchor Foal Month.
I don't know if five more chapters is enough to bring it home. But if nothing else, we'll be that much closer to the finish line. And let's face it: this race has been on the track for a very long time.
