2022-10-15 07:23:07 +0000 UTCNo problem! I like sharing what I know. And in the grand scheme of things, I actually know very little about Korean. I'm just very good at sounding like I know what I'm talking about. Haha. There's so much to know and I've barely scratched the surface in the past year. My vocabulary is laughably small. But I recommend starting with the alphabet and learning to recognize them and how they are pronounced. Once you learn that, when you see a word written in Korean, even if you don't know the translation, you can still sound it out. I practice that a lot, pronouncing any Korean text I see, to get more used to associating the sounds with the letters. Trust me, being able to see a line of text and say it out loud, whether you know the meaning or not, is a great feeling. It's a great first step. Borahae!

2022-10-14 06:25:35 +0000 UTCIt's definitely a translation thing. We usually call the song "Boy in Luv" over here, but the korean name is 상남자 (sang-nam-ja). Nam-ja is the word for "man", and Sang is the word for "Award", (you'll often year the word 대상 (dae-sang), which means "grand prize") so I guess it's sort of like "top man" or in this case of the translation "real man". It's very hard to go from Korean to English, and I find I almost have to think more in concepts rather than in sentences the way I know them. It's amazing to see how far they've come. Just for a bit of perspective, almost 10,000 Armies voted for those best dances in 2016. They did surveys later on as well for Run BTS, and last year, I was one of the over 200,000 who responded to the latest survey they put out on Weverse. Apparently the server crashed as soon at the survey was uploaded. I had no idea it was for an episode when I did it, as I was only maybe 2 or 3 months into my Army Journey, so I was so surprised when the questions came up in a episode that came out a few months later. I got to see where my answers fell in with everyone else and I felt like I was a part of the episode. It was really cool actually. This was during a time when RM, and especially Jin, were not very confident with their dancing. I know Jin was especially self-concious about it. I know they all share a very special bond with each other and are now closer than family, but the members definitely used to tease Jin a lot in the early days and his lack of confidence showed at times, especially in behind the scenes clips from the first few years. If you watch him in the background closely, you can see it, and it always breaks my heart to see how little confidence he had in himself at the start, when he was working so hard to catch up to everyone else. I love how they passed over calling him out on it here and chose Yoongi to make it fun instead of poking at Jin's insecurities. It shows that they grew up a lot from their earliest days. Yoongi calling out J-Hope was great here. And J-Hope is a consummate leader. He knows when to be super serious about showing off his dancing ability and when to take a step back and just have fun to keep the vibe of the group. He's so professional that way. I loved seeing J-Hope not really caring about coming off as the best and just hyping Suga up and not trying to show him up. He's a great leader that way. Here's the dance practice video for I Need You. -Actually, scratch that. Here's my Playlist for all of the dance practice videos I've been able to find. If a song has a small choreo part, but they didn't release a practice video, I tried to add a performance where you can see the choreo some. https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkZvnTxiV3Qh9abQBDU7un5y2oNz-L0AS The 2014 Korean Music Festival performance they mentioned was a dance they did (not to their own songs) for a Music Featival. I included a video of it in the Playlist above. It's a MUST-SEE. It's the 6th video in the Playlist called "BTS 가요대제전 Intro Performance Trailer" Apparently, when they did the actual performance, the camera work by the network was so CRAP, that Big Hit was super upset by it, and all the fans that were looking forward to it as well. All the hours of hard work they put into creating the performance and then it couldn't even be seen properly by fans, just because BTS was the underdog at the time still and no one respected them as they should. So, they filmed it again on their own and put it up on their YT channel. With actually good camera work. That's why in the video on the Playlist, you see the words "Very Good Camera", "Good Camera", and "Do You Want More?" in between the three takes. Savage Big Hit digging at the crappy camerawork that did their artist a disservice. That choreo will blow your mind, man, I guarantee it. 보라해 💜 💜 💜 Borahae

2022-10-14 05:46:55 +0000 UTCIf you’re referring to 2014 Rollin’ intro performance… the camera angles captured by the KMF for the actual performance were terrible. So Big Hit released this to mock them (hence the VERY GOOD CAMERA caption) and to show what a great choreo they have. I think this performance is still within top 10 of all time best for BTS.

2022-10-13 15:40:48 +0000 UTCFantastic 4- you have got to check out especially since RM is your bias. It's a song he did for the Marvel movie Fantastic 4. It's got a great hook and this song is definetely underrated. It's not in any BTS album since it's a collab by RM. So, you can react to it anytime in your journey. Manly Man- is the name of their song that we know of as Boy In Luv (not Danger as you guessed). I learned this from watching their old Bangtan logs and Banthan bombs on YT. Tomorrow- this is in top 5? Wow, now i gotta go check out their performance for it. It is not at all memorable to me. I would have thought: Danger, Fire, BP p.2, Dope and Boy In Luv. I thought Fire came out before I Need U or at the same time. 2014 Korea Music Festival- you have not reacted to this. Or at least I couldn't find it in your channel. This is a must! It's not their song, but Limp Bizkit's Rollin'. So I am not at all surprise it's #3 for top 5 dance. Please react to this soon. You will not regret it. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/S1Up-ZzHmuw
