A small animatronic monkey with six animated arms. A compartment in its chest can be used to house sets of tools for it to utilize.
Prep Time. During a long rest, you can prime this magic item with a set of tools (ex. Carpenter's Tools, Herbalism Kit, Thieves' Tools, etc.), replacing any set of tools previously used if needed. The set of tools used become housed within this magic item to be used by the Applied Skills property.
Applied Skills. If a creature holding this magic item would make an ability check using the set of tools used to prime it, they can activate it instead. If they do, this magic item makes the ability check in the creature's place, using the bonuses and modifiers of the creature that primed it as part of the Prep Time property.
After this property has been used, this magic item must be primed by the Prep Time ability before it can be used again.
Another set of tools snapped in the barbarian's chunky hands, adding to the ever growing pile of scrap by their side. The rogue, nearing the end of her patience as well as the end of her "practice supplies,”, ceased her pacing and screamed "It's so simple, even a monkey could do it!!!"
