Web-Weaver (Alpha 0.1)

Large and imposing demons that can be found in remote caves and within the depths of foul swamps and jungles riddled with demonic energy, Web-Weavers are a corrupting force that aims to ensnare prey within transformative webs.

With legs akin to that of a massive spider, from the torso up, these demons have the appearance of an Arancrian from the waist up, albeit with an additional set of eyes and pupils that perpetually glow crimson. The first of these creatures were formed thousands of years ago when a group of Arancrian Zealots sought to purge fiends from the Realm of Corruption. However, after these Zealots entered the realm, their escape rout was quickly cut off, and these Zealots were trapped. While they fought off demonic forces for several months, the realm eventually took its toll, warping the once proud warriors into demons known as Web-Weavers.

Still fueled by the aggressive drive of the first of their kind, if a Web-Weaver encounters nearly any type of creature, whether they be mortal, fairy, angel, or even other demons, they will attempt to best them in combat, warping those they've claimed victory over within their web, and beginning that creature's metamorphosis into a Web-Weaver.

While a Web-Weaver is incapable of immediately transforming a creature, if a creature remains trapped within its web for a prolonged period of time, it's body and mind will become replaced with those of a Web-Weaver. Though this process may be undone via a ritual of purification, this most often requires the transformed creature to me knocked out, as a Web-Weaver's aggressive tendencies make performing the ritual on such a creature incredibly difficult.

Weaver's Web: This web lasts indefinitely or until it is destroyed. Web does not occupy a space. If a creature moves into a space covered in web, that creature's movement is reduced to 0. A creature can escape this web as a Two-Handed action to roll 1d6, adding their resolve. If the total is 12 or higher, the creature successfully escapes, destroying the web of that space. Additionally if a webbed space is dealt fire damage, the web of that space and each connected webbed space is destroyed. If a defeated creature remains in this web, it does not need to eat, nor does it regain consciousness for as long as it remains in this web. If a creature remains in this web for seven straight days, its body and mind are replaced by those of a Web Weaver. This transformation may be undone via a ritual of purification.
