Duplicate (Alpha 0.1)

While the vast majority of fairies take on appearances comparable to humanoids, Duplicates are an uncommon creature found within the Midnight Grove that initially sports a far different appearance. Occasionally spawned forth when a powerful fairy excessively uses magic to alter its appearance, at the time of its creation, a Duplicate looks like little more than a small, inky, purple blob with an appearance more akin to an ooze than a fairy.

While incapable of posing much of any kind of threat by default, if a Duplicate makes physical contact with a humanoid creature, it becomes physically identical to that creature, even gaining access to its magical capabilities and class levels. While it may appear to be a copy of another creature, it retains its fairy disposition and is known to prank others under the guise of the creature its impersonating.

While they may look exactly like a humanoid creature, these fairies notably don't need food to survive and are rather averse to the cold, even reverting to their original forms when damaged by freezing magics.

Luckily, while a Duplicate retains a creature's appearance and abilities, it does not have access to that creature's memories, nor does it necessarily know that creature's name or how it normally acts, meaning that most transformed Duplicates that leave the Midnight Grove are easy for those familiar with the impersonated creature to identify. However, if a duplicate is able to observe a creature for an extended period of time prior to assuming its form, it may make it more difficult for others to immediately identify the creature's lack of authenticity.

Abilities:

Innate Duplication: If the Duplicate makes physical contact with another creature, if the Duplicate is in its default form and the creature it touched isn't a fairy, the Duplicate transforms into an identical copy of that creature. While transformed this way, the Duplicate's Combat Stats become those of that creature, its HP, Will, and MP become those of that creature, and it gains access to that creature's class abilities and spells. While transformed this way, the Duplicate retains its own Utility Stats, its vulnerability to Ice damage, its other abilities, and its status as a Fairy. Once a Duplicate has assumed the form of another creature, it remains in this transformed state indefinitely.

Severe Ice Aversion: If the Duplicate sustains 20 or more Ice damage from a single source while transformed, it immediately reverts to its original form.

Adept Impersonator: If a Duplicate observes a creature for one total hour, it can replicate that creature's speech patterns, gestures, posture, and movements.

Scatterbrained Fairy: The Duplicate has two personality traits, at least one of which must be from the Bimbo Personality Trait Chart.
