Magic Items Vol. Two (Alpha 0.1)
Added 2021-10-24 06:32:21 +0000 UTCLipstick of Mimicry:
(Uncommon Cursed Item) Lipstick of mimicry appears as a normal black tube of silver lipstick. If a creature applies this lipstick to itself, the lipstick is indistinguishable from non-magical lipstick. However, this lipstick's magical properties are evident if a creature applies this lipstick to another creature. Once applied to another creature, the lipstick can only be removed by the creature that applied it, keeping a creature's lips a glossy, mirror-like silver. Most notably, as long as this lipstick was applied by another creature, the creature wearing this lipstick's voice becomes indistinguishable from that of the creature that applied it. Unfortunately for adventurers, this lipstick is often in the possession of creatures with high pitched or grating voices. To apply the lipstick to a conscious, unrestrained, and unwilling creature, using the Lipstick of Mimicry counts as making a one-handed unarmed attack against that creature. If the target is immobile or unconscious, the lipstick is applied to the target.
Gossip Ring
(Legendary Magical Item). The gossip ring is a sentient magic ring that is capable of telepathically communicating with the wearer. The ring is chaotic neutral and sounds like a young woman with vocal fry and upspeak. She is incredibly talkative and wants nothing more than to gossip with its wearer about the most trivial drama and those around the wearer. The ring itself notably possesses true sight and can sense up to a mile radius for traps, invisible monsters, and even magic items. However, she will only agree to explain what it sees once a day, and only if the wearer gossips with the ring for at least one hour. If the wearer uses this ability three or more times, they become cursed by the ring, causing them to talk with upspeak and compelling them to gossip frequently. They gain the Gossip Personality Trait: "You love talking about other people, and can go on and on on the most trivial of matters. If you have not gossiped with another creature for at least thirty minutes every 24 hours, each of your combat stats are reduced by -1."
Heels of the Ballerina Queen
(Common magic Item) A pair of frilly, extraordinarily high heels, these cursed shoes permanently alter the way its wearer walks. Forcing the wearer to stand on the tips of their toes and teeter, these shoes can be locked onto one's feet. As long as a creature wears these heels their movement speed is reduced by 1. If a creature is unable to remove these heels in 24 hours, the locks undo themselves, but transfer their magic to the wearer, forcing them to always stand on their tip tones when they stand or walk. This effect reduces a creature's movement speed by 1. This effect can be reversed via a Ritual of Purification.
Ring of Weak Will
(Common Cursed Item) A cursed bronze ring toting a jet gemstone in the shape of a heart. As long as a creature is wearing this ring, their mind becomes more easy to shape and manipulate. A creature wearing this ring subtracts 1d6 from all rolls against being seduced, charmed, or hypnotized. Additionally, a creature wearing this ring subtracts 1d6 when resolving effects that causes mind altering effects such as those that alter personality traits. These rings are most often forced onto the fingers of adventurers by lesser transformative fiends in the service of a creature such as a Thronemaker or a Perverter of Form.
Reversal Doll
(Uncommon cursed item) Created by fairies, this is a standard looking child's doll dressed head to toe in pink bows, lace, and ribbons. If the doll it touched by a creature, if that creature has at least 3 awareness, they can roll 1d6, adding their speed to the result. If they made this roll and the total result is 12 or more, the creature can drop the doll before the magic takes hold. If they lacked the awareness to make this roll or the result was less than 12, the doll magically exchanges outfits with the creature, gaining a miniature version of that creature's outfit. Meanwhile, the creature is forced into a cursed, overly feminine ensemble previously worn by the doll. The creature's hair is styled in the manner of the doll's and all makeup on the doll's face is applied to the creature as well. This outfit cannot be removed without a remove curse or wish spell unless it is being removed by a fey. This outfit does not provide any defense or resolve, is too puffy to wear armor over. Due to its appearance, it causes its wearer to subtract 2d4 from diplomacy rolls made to intimidate a target, and due to its loud ruffles, it causes the wearer to subtract 2d4 from subtly rolls made to sneak.
Cards Of Chance
(Rarity ranges from Common to Legendary)
Cards of Legend are highly collectable trading cards that are created by and sold by the various guilds found within the city of Centralia. Cards are purchased individually, each within opaque magic seals to keep the contents of a given purchase random and secret. Cards can be purchased in a variety of sets, with some cards depicting beloved and well known heroes of legend, while other depict fictitious characters. Upon opening a card, the creature that opened the card experienced an effect based on the card that was opened. The effects can range widely based on the rarity of the card and the type of pack the card came from. For example, opening a "Fledgling Healer" card from an "Adventuring for Beginners" pack can allow the opener to cast the Alleviate spell once within the next 24 hours, while opening a card from a valuable "Heroes of Legend" pack may alter the opener's form to resemble the hero depicted in the card they pulled for the next 24 hours. While packs from difficult to obtain and valuable packs such as those of "Heroes of Legend" may be sought after, adventurers should be warry of counterfeits. In an attempt to capitalize on the demand of such sought after cards, some magic-users of ill repute have been known to scam adventurers with cards that temporarily alter the opener's form into that of a highly sexualized bimbo parody of a hero rather than the hero themselves.
(A full catalogue of the various pack types, cards available within them, and their effects will have its own detailed section at a later date).
Feminizing Satchel
(Common Cursed Item)
Appearing no different than an ordinary purple leather bag from its exterior, this magic bag can conveniently hold up to one-hundred pounds of one's wares without its own weight or size changing, always weighing exactly two pounds, whilst magically containing any objects stored within it. If an individual wishes to remove an object stored within the satchel, they must simply verbally describe an object stored within, reach into the satchel, and it will be the first object their hand finds upon entering the bag. However, the convenience of this satchel comes at a cost. Any object that is stored within the Satchel for more than one hour is automatically targeted with the Minor Feminization spell. While this spell does not augment the size or functionality of an item, it alters its shape, color, and form to take on an overtly overly feminine appearance, often reimagining items to be pink and adorned with lace and ribbons.
Claws Of The Leopard Queen
(Rare Cursed Item)
The Claws of the Leopard Queen appear as ebon gauntlets with crystalline claws embedded in the tip of each finger. If these gauntlets are worn by a Felis Beastfolk, they provide the creature with the following benefits:
-Your Defense increases by 1.
-Add an additional 1d6 dark damage and an additional 1d6 psychic damage to unarmed attacks you make. This damage cannot be prevented.
-You can quickly climb walls with ease, able to use your horizontal movement to vertically move up surfaces.
If a creature other than a Felis Beastfolk wears these gauntlets, upon donning these gauntlets, their form evaporates into black smoke, leaving behind the crystalline claws. These claws shrink and replace the nails of the target, appearing glittery and garish. While these claws are indestructible, a creature they're attached to will become terrified of the prospect of cracking or breaking one of their nails. They gain the following personality trait as long as they are cursed this way: Nail-Minded: You can't fathom the idea of breaking a nail, and constantly give your nails the attention you think they deserve. You can't make unarmed attacks out of fear of damaging a nail.
This curse can be ended via a ritual of purification. If this curse is removed this way, the creature's nails return to normal and gauntlets return to their original state adjacent to the previously cursed creature.
Armor Of The Bound
(Common Cursed Item)
A cursed item commonly found within the domains of those that which to restrain and bind others, at first glance, a suit of Armor of the Bound appears completely indistinguishable from a normal suit of armor. However, donning this armor causes it to be locked into place, altering its form to take on a more revealing appearance and hindering the wearer in one of several ways. The armor features a basic lock on the upper back of the wearer, that can easily be undone by a basic key, a creature adept a picking locks, or any creature with at least one level in Thief. However, this lock is out of range from the wearer. Upon donning Armor of the Bound, the wearer rolls 1d4 and suffers the following effect based on the result:
1: Your arms are bound behind your back, preventing you from using actions that require your hands.
2: The armor forms a gag in your mouth, preventing you from speaking, casting spells, and performing actions or rolls that require your mouth.
3: The armor forms a blindfold that prevents you from seeing while the armor is worn.
4: The armor forms ear-plugs that prevent you from hearing.
Additionally, if a creature wears this armor for more than 24 hours, they gain the Submissive personality trait for as long as they wear this armor.
Elixir Of Solys
(Legendary Magic Item)
Said to contain a tear from Goddess Solys herself, an Elixir of Solys appears a faintly glowing liquid platinum. While this elixir is incredibly difficult to come by, and the few known vials of the Elixir are heavily guarded by the Church of Purification, drinking a vile of the Elixir of Solys is said to not only purge all corruption from a creature, but imbue them with the Sun Goddess's blessing. If a naturally ocurring demon that is not the result of a transformative effect drinks this Elixir, they are instantly consumed in a flare of burning white radiance. Upon drinking an Elixir of Solys, you experience the following effects:
-If you are classified as a demon due to a transformative effect, you are no longer classified as a demon.
-You lose all points of corruption.
-All curses effecting you immediately end, and all cursed items equipped to you are unequipped.
-You may end any number of magical effects you are currently affected by.
-Permanently increase each of your combat and utility stats by 1.
-Your HP, Will, and MP are each restored to their maximums.
