Warping Possessor (Alpha 0.1)
Added 2021-10-31 05:10:16 +0000 UTCWhen a being consumed with utter narcissism and vanity dies, it's pure love of its own self image can cause its spirit to linger in the realm of mortals as an undead spirit known as a Warping Possessor. These undead aim to assume their regular routine and maintain the image they had when they were alive by possessing another living creature, and warping their body to a form comparable to the one they had when they were alive. Luckily these specters are only capable of possessing individuals of weak will and can only maintain possession of a given creature for a maximum of one hour of every day. If they are able to possess and augment the body of a creature to take on a similar appearance to that when they were alive, they often find that creature to be the "heir of their image," and will indefinitely follow that creature until it is destroyed.

Abilities:
Ghostly Heritage: A Warping Possessor can be the spirit of humanoid creatures of any race, gender, or background. The GM dictates the physical traits of a Warping Possessor when it was alive.
Spectral Form: This creature can pass through objects and creatures as if they weren't there, though it can't end its turn inside of an object or creature unless it ends its turn inside of a creature it is possessing. Additionally, this creature is capable of flight. If this creature would be reduced to 0 HP or 0 Will from a non-light source, it dissipates, reforming with all of its HP and Will within 2d6 hours. If it is reduced to 0 HP or 0 Will from a light source, this creature is destroyed.
Arcane Magics: This creature knows three spells from the Arcanist Spell list, though no one spell it knows can cost more than 10 MP to cast.
Possession: The Warping Possessor attempts to enter the body of a humanoid creature it touches. The creature must roll 1d6, adding their resolve to the result. If the total result is eleven or less, the warping possessor successfully possesses the creature. While possessed, a creature's turn is controlled by the Warping Possessor. The Warping Possessor cannot use that creature's class abilities or cast spells they know, but it can cast spells known by the Possessor via its Arcane Magics ability. At the end of the possessed creature's turn and whenever the possessed creature takes damage from any source, it repeats its Resolve roll, ending the possession of the total result is twelve or greater. A Warping Possessor cannot use this ability for more than one total hour within a 24 hour period. Additionally, once it has targeted a creature with this ability, it cannot target another creature with this ability for 24 hours.
Warping Influence: At the beginning of a creature's turn, if they are possessed by the Warping possessor, they experience the following effects based on how many turns they have been possessed by the possessor in a 24 hour period.
1-2: No notable changes.
3-8: The targets facial features and proportions become more akin to that of the Possessor when it was alive, though this has no impact on a character's combat or utility functionality. These alterations vary greatly and are heavily dependent on the form of the Possessor when it was alive.
9: If the possessed creature is not the same gender as the Possessor, it's gender changes to match that of the possessor.
10: If the possessed creature is not the same race as that of the Possessor when it was alive, it changes to that of the Possessor. As this stage is reached, the creature's appearance is nearly indistinguishable from that of the Possessor when it was alive.
The transformative effects of Warping Influence can be undone via a Ritual of Purification.
