Cold Stone

Greetings patrons! All of the time I am writing music, and many days I start tracks that never go anywhere. I think it is wonderful and very necessary as an artist to always engage in the process. In today's world of pointless content production, the filling of spaces like Spotify or YouTube, and with brutally cynical technology like Generative AI actively devaluing the process of art by automating human expression, it is easy and common to gloss over how important the process is. How wonderful that we can so easily choose not to be automated!

With regard to music, then, I find it totally acceptable to start things and never finish them. As an artist I learn with every experience, whether they are complete or incomplete, and although it is true that finishing things is a skill which must be practiced, it is true that we gain experience regardless of how "complete" a thing is.

To that end, I consider the creation process like scattering seeds in fields - Some of those seeds will grow a little, others may fail to even sprout, but a few will become something more.

Today I am sharing with you a track that I began this morning and, were it not for this Patreon page, I would just have tucked it away somewhere and probably never released it in any form. But lucky you!

To be honest, this is the kind of music I could see adding to PROJECTIONS (the game) eventually. I don't know that I would make an album in this style, but who knows? Either way, this I felt was worth sharing with you. Maybe you'll enjoy it! Maybe you'll hate it! Who knows! The exposure to it has innate value, and maybe it will affect you one way or another.
