2020-12-30 04:39:29 +0000 UTCDefinitely! Those pins went into my fixture drawer, and someday in the future, I'll be very glad I made them! They still fit my faceplate as they were designed to do, so they went in the box where I keep my faceplate. They'll be useful at some later time.

2020-12-24 05:45:49 +0000 UTCHey Blondi-Quinn; When you spun up the flywheel/face plate I was mainly watching the ID of the casting, and it looks (just by my old machinist eyes) like it's running pretty darn nice. I've made a lot of fixturing pieces for not only holding stuff in a chuck, but on a face plate too. Many years worth of fixtures are saved up in drawers in my shop, just waiting to be used a second time... My point is, those "fixture pins" you made, though they did not work out for this job, will be waiting for a job in the future, and when that job come, you are going to have some of the nicest fixtures around. Most of the fixture things I make eventually get used more than once, but with some modification for a different job. I would have a hard time cutting up those fixture pins you made to repurpose them on another job. Nice work on those, and you'll be proud of yourself again when you find a job that suits those pieces a year or two down the road. Merry Christmas!
