Models and Drawings for February
Added 2021-03-02 03:51:12 +0000 UTCHey Patrons!
As is tradition, here is the link for shared drive for the month. Every project for which I made models or drawings is in there. A special treat this time- for the Letter Punch Jig, you'll also find STEP and STL files for 3D printing. That project seems like a great candidate for it, so by popular demand, I'm including those files.

If you're a new Patron, that link will expire in 30 days, so don't bother bookmarking it. I paste a new one here every month. Enjoy!

Doing Science using those measurements is easier with a slide rule.

2021-03-29 00:51:33 +0000 UTCThe dimensions for the base? About 10" x 4". Something like 18 or 20 ga brass sheet metal would make a good replacement for the plastic, I think.

2021-03-22 02:06:47 +0000 UTCThis clamp project is a great beginner project, I think. Very simple operations throughout, although some of the tolerances are tight.

2021-03-21 17:19:04 +0000 UTCExcellent! That's a great project.

2021-03-21 17:18:47 +0000 UTCYah, I'm considering a few options. I might replace the plastic cap with a brass-sheet-made one soldered together.

2021-03-21 17:18:28 +0000 UTCInteresting take on the steam engine vs clamp type of machining. In the sometime soon, when I buy a lathe, I'm certain I'll start on the clamp-type projects to hone my currently non-existant skill set. Thx. Nice video.

2021-03-21 10:55:01 +0000 UTCSorry to hear about the algorithm and your videos. But do not fear: I still love them and look out for them. So are most of your many fans, I'm sure.

2021-03-21 03:19:08 +0000 UTCQuinn, when I get my new lathe I'm going to do the clamps, I can't use the other because it needs new bushings! like the lens video!!

2021-03-21 01:56:31 +0000 UTCSounds like you might have to make an aluminum base for the engine...

2021-03-21 01:19:57 +0000 UTCYah, Lens videos are small pieces, like Instagram Stories. A lot of folks have technical difficulty with them, but sadly I can't help with that.

2021-03-16 16:52:05 +0000 UTCI enjoy your videos and clear explanations. I am not happy with Lens, on my PC it starts and stops like it is made up of tiny segments. Do keep up the good work; Thank you.

2021-03-16 00:16:12 +0000 UTCI suspect that this was the reason I never really got into modelling. The detail work, after getting the basic work done , whether it was assembling a plastic model or constructing a working model - I just never seemed to be able to face up to the fiddley stuff. As a result, my models were never really satisfying, or worthy of being shown to anyone else.
