That's a great idea! I might not be able to test to full pressure that way, since the tube wall thicknesses are calculated for pressure from the other side where they are strong. There's a lot of safety margin in those numbers though so it would probably be fine, honestly.

2021-09-05 05:29:16 +0000 UTCLooking good! If you need to make another repair I am thinking maybe make a "washer" to go under the bolt head out of the material used in auto header wrap. The bolt stud will have to be a close fit to the inside of the tube or it may not pull the heat well as the head will not be in contact. May have to machine something to get a good fit.
