Patreon billing

Hey everyone,

One of you fine folks just let me know that Patreon had an issue with one of their credit card billing contractors that caused a few people to be double-billed on October 1st. You may want to check. If this happened to you, Patreon will fix it:

. . .

"Phillip here with Patreon's support, I hope you are well today.

We received reports that a number of patrons were double-charged on October 1st and a few days following. Our investigation found that the issue was not on our end and that all confirmed cases indicate these charges were from a single payment partner.

Starting today, the payment partner will be reversing all duplicated transactions automatically and initiating refunds to impacted users. These may take a few days to process.

This will not impact creators' earnings, and patrons will continue to have access to all the content from creators they support. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you do not see a refund by October 14, please reply directly to this email."

I'm very happy to be back in the land of Robertson screws. I hate Phillips so much. :D

Blondihacks

Wow, a Robertson screw; you're definitely embracing the Canadian lifestyle! :-) Very nice installation to boot. Look forward to seeing it in action,on future projects.

Which way does it switch? No, don't tell me, I'll wait and see. You see, I like to watch...

Kevin Reardon

Your new locomotive project - wow!

I'm looking forward to seeing how those "semi-circular/half-nuts" are made (and what they're called!). My immediate thought was turned on the lathe, cross-drilled and tapped on the mill. Then the difficult bit - using a zero thickness slitting saw to chop them in half.

Richard Gardiner

Thanks for letting us know. Though ... it seems like that's something *Patreon* should be telling us about ...

Peter Laws

TBH, you deserved a bonus for the glass cutting video anyways.

Bryan Lewis

Thanks for the heads-up. Fortunately it looks like I'm in the clear.

Doug Schutz

First I'd heard of this, thanks for making a post about it!

Evan Foster

I've never had any issues with payment on my side from Patreon. In this case I wasn't paid twice, it's just that some people were charged twice.

Blondihacks

Do they give you the money at least?

Colin Alston

As if you need to be worrying about that kind of garbage! Keep up the great work - you’re doing excellent stuff and we love your sense of humor as much as your fun content.
