Stickers & Thanks

Hey everyone! It's a new month, so it's time for updated credits and stickers. Sticker packs are in the mail for everyone who joined at the Rockstar level in July, and credits are updated on my blog and in upcoming videos.

On the subject of video credits, I'm still working on a better solution here. I know that it's hard to read the names right now because of how quickly it scrolls, and I'm working on better solutions. I've drawn inspiration from many suggestions from you folks on this, and what a lot of other channels do. The challenge is coming up with something that I can automate, because unlike the big channels, I don't have a team of editors to do this by hand every week for me. My credits system is a python script that scrapes data from Patreon and imports it into Final Cut Pro. However, Final Cut Pro's credit templates are really limited (ironic for what is supposed to be the defacto professional video tool). The real pros would make their own templates, so that's what I'm in the process of teaching myself to do at the moment. Hang in there, and I hope to have something where you can see your name much easier soon.

Never really bothered to look for mine. Then I mentioned to my GF, she loves to watch with me just to hear you speak, the new Sprocket level and wow, there it was. Too cool!

Thanks for the update. Not speaking for anyone else but I am not at all bothered about my name being in the credits, I'm happy to support you and its the best money I spend each month. My problem is that I'm still trying to find the perfect place for my stickers. My old Myford is too oily to apply a sticker but I bought a new lathe which is coming in September so maybe there! FCP is an awesome tool but is limited in the post production type functions. I work in cinema and FCP is normally normally used in conjunction with After Effects for credit type operations.... I'm no expert as I'm the engineering sector but the film productions people go on about this subject a lot! Keep well, Quinn. :)
