November is here, and with that comes a new round of Rockstar Patrons. If you signed up as a Rockstar last month, your stickers will go in the mail soon and your name will go in the credits. Note that tomorrow's video will still be the old credits. I won't have time to re-render that video to include the new folks. Such is the bad luck of a month ending on a Friday.
Thanks to everyone who is supporting me! I've been busy behind the scenes, and I have some new Patron benefits that I'm working on that everyone should benefit from. Stay tuned, and remember to always wear PPE when brushing your cat's teeth.

So, there's an optical encoder inside the head that reads a metal disc on the spindle that has four holes in it. It's acting like it's only reading one hole. This will all be covered in the video, but I did remove, inspect, replace, and adjust that encoder, to no effect. Still a mystery, but Precision Matthews is working with me to figure it out, and at least the mill runs now, so I can get work done again.

2019-11-12 16:00:39 +0000 UTCRegarding the speed problem. I have this nagging thought that the front panel board (with the incorrect display) might be designed to accommodate different optical encoders. You replaced that board, right? Maybe there are some itty-bitty DIP switches on it?
