IMMEDIATE ACCESS - Gintama Episode 295 Reaction

I recond everyone recommending just watching the show in release order (OVA is fine after this ep though if you feel like it), I think the Porori/Slip arc fits perfectly well where it is and you'll appreciate the meta aspect of it more.

Don't listen to those who said watching Pororihen (ep329-341 ) before 298 is better because of Manga x and y, if you do so you will have to skip bunch of stuff in Pororihen to avoid spoiler about earlier episodes. Just watch in normal airing order with normal episode counts. Skipping to 329-341 and then going back to 298 will ruin many meta jokes and will also force you to skip some parts of the show as well as op,ed just for the sake of "it was like this on the manga even though it doesn't affect the plot or anything and will only ruin smooth watching experience". You will be told to skip this and skip that for next bunch of episodes so I recommend just watching the show as normal as possible without those outside opinions

Everything you said is true however I would recommend just watching the show in the order they were released. For the most part that is how everyone else experienced it so I feel like it makes sense for him to have the same experience as the rest of us IMO.

So since it’s coming up, I wanted to let you know about the Gintama Porori-hen season and Aizenkyou OVAs. While Poriori-hen is episodes 329-341 and the Aizenkyou OVA were released after episodes 300-328, they takes place both canonically and in the manga first. The reason being that the anime staff wanted to hurry to the next serious arc and therefore decided to skip a bunch more comedy episodes and arcs (Porori-hen means “Skipped arc.”) As such, if you want to follow the correct canon timeline, I REALLY SUGGEST you to watch 329-341 and the OVAs before 300-328. Not only is this how it is in the manga, but the events of 300-328 make it extremely hard to go back to comedy, and it kills the momentum the series has going after 328.
