2023-05-19 12:47:08 +0000 UTCHi, there is an important video that explains the lore surrounding this show; I am pretty sure it was intended to be watched to prepare for this series. It is called “Exandria: An intimate history”, it’s q0 minutes, narrated by Matt Mercer, with some pretty maps, graphics, and art to guide your understanding of this world, the gods, and critical events surrounding Calamity As for prep, there was a lot of prep due to the one-shot, high level nature of the series. Brennan prepared a “lore document” for each player. Some of it was general knowledge shared by all members; the rest was player specific. For example, all the players would know that the Golden Scythe was a merchant organization run by Nydas, but only Nydas would know the names of the NPCs, his little scarecrow machines, and his business dealings.
