Yeah. I was trying for a scenario where he got used to being big fish in small pond type, then running into real resistance. Looks like it went okay. Don’t want him to lose too much faith in himself, but also wanted him to realize that he’s not the be all end all yet. Based on this comment, without having to nerf him (which I hate) it looks like I did okay. Thanks for reading and the feedback!

And I had to wait until now to post this cause I didn’t wanna give any spoilers, but oh my God, cringing at all the bragging Derek did just before his fight, and then got his clock cleaned. How embarrassing. Now can Derek remember why he needed to hide his level and get stronger when he first landed in the Davinresh system? Because he’s gonna need to be a little more circumspect now that there are people of such higher levels than him. He’s just a regular fish now.
