How important is exclusive content?

Hey all.

I hope this June 1st finds you happy, healthy, and horny.  I start this month off with a question for you.  In regards to my writing, how important it is to you that you have access to content exclusive to the Patreon?

I've been playing with the idea of starting to release Slave Girl chapters onto one or two free sites since it is fully a serial at this point.  I could try to turn it into a novel eventually but it would be quite a flabby and meandering one.  lol  As I have done in the past I could release chapters for free but keep a certain number of the most recent ones exclusive for you.  Any story polls or anything like that I would leave for you Patrons as well.  I'm also cool keeping it strictly behind a paywall for now.  I'm truly on the fence so I thought I'd see what you guys would prefer.

I leave this up until Thursday the close the poll.  Feel free to comment as well.

Love to all.

Y'all are seriously the best Patrons ever. <3

I’d be totally happy to see some of your free content (stuff you can’t write on Patreon) just linked here or to be directed to it from here as well. I just wanted to support you. I’m not worried about paying for exclusive content. Most of the recent stories haven’t been totally up my alley, but I still love your writing and can’t wait to see what’s next. I would love to see it shared with everyone. Maybe you’d get more patreons…

Thanks Kirk. :)

I've always viewed patreon as more of a tip jar for writers. Happy to support even if its not exclusive to the sub.

Some of the shorts and novellas will likely remain exclusive too, anything easy to bundle up as a sellable ebook. I am happy to hear you consider my stories lovely. :)

I'm for the a few chapters ahead on here approach. Gives us patrons something extra. But everyone gets to read all of your Lovely stories in the end

I definitely want to keep the polls just for you Patrons.

Reading this it just dawned on me I could to a stepped approach. Free sites 5 chapters behind. Free access to chapters on the Patreon page (to draw readers onto the page) 4 chapters behind. And Patrons right up to date. Hmm.

I'm terrible at this stuff. lol With the time I have free for being Grimbous I spend 98% of it writing and 2% trying to figure out everything else. Great advice, thank you.

That's not how this works. You don't make as much content exclusive as your patrons want, you make exclusive content to get more patrons. For example, if a novel has advance chapters 90% of patrons will be in the tier with he most advance chapters (with standard pricing).

Keep the polls exclusive and release chapters to the public after x amount of days or weeks. If you keep some of your best behind a paywall it never attracts new members.

I think polls and the like plus the most recent chapter should be exclusive and everything else free. Or if you can be bothered to do it, have two polls, one for Patreons only and is more weighted and another for the public.
