Update: February 2023 Update

Damn this month's gone by fast! I don't know about you but February has been a blast for me. A Simple Life has turned out to be so much fun to write. The polls are fun, the characters I already adore, and I am loving this peculiar island setting that we've created. It's been awesome! And we haven't even gotten to the smutty stuff yet! lol
Slave Girl 2 is progressing nicely too. It doesn't seem nearly as popular as the original (unsurprisingly) but I'm still enjoying the journey of Rosa and Quin. :) I'm starting to think this will be the middle book in a trilogy but we'll have to see how it goes.
I think March will be mostly just those two serials continuing. I might try to squeeze a short in there but only if something really inspires me.
Looking forward, my plan right now is to pause Patreon payments in April. During that month I am going to look into actually doing something with the tier system so that it is actually an attractive proposition to join at a higher level. Right now y'all get everything for $5 USD/month. When you look at the amount of shorts, etc that's a hell of a deal by any measure. I don't know how I might figure out the tiers but something along the lines of the basic tier gets you any active serial and the latest short then higher tiers gets you different back catalog options. I don't know though, I need to think about it and I generally suck at this stuff. Any ideas or advice would be welcome.
I'd also like to take some of these exclusive shorts and polish them up to release them for sale as ebooks to try to get another revenue stream going. This is another reason I want to put older stuff into higher tiers. There's no reason to buy a book when you can get everything for 5 bucks. I might not ever make a living at this smut business but I'd never forgive myself if I didn't at least try.

One thing I loved about Subscribestar was the weighted voting by tier level. Then I didn't have to make separate polls for separate tiers, it just made the upper tiers votes worth more. Super simple change that Patreon could make. Altered version chapters/shorts is an interesting idea. Thanks nope!

2023-02-26 16:53:02 +0000 UTCSounds like a solid plan. Maybe you'd also do like one short a month and higher tiers would get exclusive/larger voting power for it? Or be able to suggest pairing and genre (while temp cycling out the previous month's exact one) Other than that maybe exclusive altered versions of previous chapters/shorts might be fun and not too much extra burden. I definitely think posting your stuff on amazon etc. is a good move. And though I know some may wince at the current tier losing some of its value, you are damn near the most consistent smut writer I've seen and if you feel it's necessary to take away universal access to your shorts at this tier to bump up their exclusivity I won't knock you. You definitely deserve more money and it might help.
