Update: October 2022

Heyo friendos,

(TLDR: Rest of October quiet, things to kick off again in November.)

Well, we made it.  Son for Hire has made it to the big "The End".  It is always a weird feeling reaching the end of a novel.  I am excited about projects to come yet the moment I write those two final words I find myself already missing the characters that I'd come to know and love.  In the end it weighs in at around 225k words (including interludes).  That's longer than Fellowship of the Ring, Moby Dick, or Crime and Punishment.  That is so crazy to me!  I HAVE to shorten these damn stories!  lol  Long as it was, I hope y'all enjoyed the journey as much as I did.

Alright, enough about the past.  Let's look forward.

First and foremost: Billing will continue as of November 1st.  Also, I have switched over to the new billing model.  As existing patrons it won't effect you now, but if you ever leave and join up again you'll be billed on the date you joined instead of on the first of each month.

Jo White?  I am going to make it official and say that Jo White is dead.  First of all the story didn't seem to click with the free readers, similar to A Love So Deep.  I am wondering if women protags are just not my forte.  Looking back at the stories that really seemed to find traction all of them have men MCs.  Who knows.  Secondly, after a couple of months paused and with changes on the way I would like to start November with a clean slate.

Changes?  Yes, changes.  As mentioned in previous posts I am planning on starting a Subscribestar page for content that cannot be posted here.  And, at least at first, I am also planning to keep the Patreon going as well.  Unfortunately the main thing this will mean for the Patreon is less content.  With my attention divided this simply cannot be helped.  I am going to leave tiers as is and, once the Substar is going, take a few months to see how things are going and decide if running the dual pages is even manageable. 

Important: If you happen to stumble across my Substar page before it is ready please DO NOT JOIN!  I am still working things out over there.  I guarantee that there will be no content there until at least sometime in November.  I'll make an announcement when things are ready.

Stories?  I think the Patreon is going to be pretty quiet for the rest of October.  I am going take the rest of this month to begin working on the two new serials I am starting in November and hopefully get some work in on a couple of shorts.  Right now my inclination is to start a sequel to Slave Girl on here.  For the other site I am playing with the idea of writing a redux of an old story.  But I dare not litter this clean and wholesome site with details about it.

My whole focus until now was to get my schedule back in order (which I have) and to get SfH finished, so what I've said above are just my initial ideas.  My muse might pull me in other directions once I really start.  It is pretty rare for me to have a moment of planning and preparation like this so if you have any feedback or suggestions please feel free say something.  Comments/questions about the substar stuff really should be asked elsewhere though.

Okay, enough blah, blah, blah from me.  I've got writing to do!
