Update: Upcoming Changes
Added 2023-04-10 13:37:27 +0000 UTCHello my beauties,
So after the most recent opinion poll I think I have a better idea of what is going to happen with the tiers. Thank you for voting and providing your feedback.
There still might be some tweaks but the new tiers will look close to the following:
$1 Tip Jar: Will remain the same. Just a place to toss me a coin in appreciation for my free content.
$5 Reader Tier: Will have access to the most up to date chapters of the main serials and shorts that I am currently working on as well as being able to vote in Reader polls.
$10 Reader Plus Tier: As above plus access to the most recent finished short, the exclusive chapters of previous incomplete serials, being able to vote in Reader Plus polls, as well as a special post of some sort of bonus material each month*.
$20 Archivist Tier: As above plus access to all previous finished shorts.
$100 Good One Tier: As above plus absolutely nothing of value. You will have my eternal thanks and will be called out as a good boy or good girl during the month end update. (This is of no value because you are ALL good boys and girls who have my eternal thanks already. ❤) This is purely a silly tier for those of means who wish to show some extra support for this weirdo writer.
*I am still working out what the bonus material will be. Character of the Month, In Character Posts, Gifts, and Slow Moving CYOA all had nearly the same amount of interest. I will give some thought to which one I want to do or maybe look to combine some of the ideas into one. Not including any polls that might be involved you can expect one 'chapter' of writing. I am also playing with the idea of giving the Reader tier access to these posts (not the polls) but one month later.
Over the remainder of April I will be setting up the new tiers and going back to adjust access to the old content to the appropriate tiers. I hope for everything to be done by May 1st.
Also, to my surprise, there was some interest in the Personal Blog idea. I am not sure yet if I'll do it or if this is even the place to put such a thing but if I do I'll try to make sure I do so in a way that doesn't take away from my fiction writing time. If I do end up writing one elsewhere I will let y'all know.
Again, thank you all for your input and support.
Love to all.

That is a freaking awesome idea! I will definitely think about it. Sometimes it can be difficult to get back into the headspace of a certain story and sometimes a story wraps up just right, but it is worth thinking about for sure.

If this you taking steps to becoming a full time writer, that's a massive win in my books. :) Also, just a request, consider adding 1 additional chapter to your ebooks with like a 10 year look into the future of the short story. Maybe of how things played out? I'd buy them just so I can read those chapters. Like how you did in "Enemey".

2023-04-10 15:04:11 +0000 UTCYeah, it's what I've been talking about for a month or two now. I totally understand that losing access to content sucks but I think I have enough of a back catalogue now to make $20 a reasonable ask. I plan to start selling my shorts as ebooks soon so I need to put some sort of value on them. If readers can get everything for 5 or 10 bucks why would they ever buy a book? And, I could be wrong, but I think I put out enough fresh stuff in an average month that $5 for the main tier isn't so bad either. I'm trying to be as balanced as I can while still making steps to actually making a living at this stuff. The balance might be off, but I'm trying.

2023-04-10 14:28:04 +0000 UTCHey Grimbous! Been a long time reader, over a year now I think?! Question, are people subscribed at the "Reader" tier losing accesses to content? Looks like you're gating older shorts behind higher tiers, which are currently available to "Reader[s]", am I getting this right? I'm all for authors adjusting prices and adding higher tiers, and even moving some perks to higher tiers. But it's a shame that to get the same level of access "Reader[s]" have now at $5, they have to move up all the way to $20. Personally, I would have not minded moving up to the $10 tier, with the extra content. But right now it doesn't make any sense to be subscribed to anything other than the $5 tier. I think the same goes for new people to occasionally go up to the $20 to catch up on higher tier content plus older archived content.
