Here are some of the photos of the newest addition to the family, Alphonse Batrick!
I fell in love with him immediately, he reminds me so much of Aleister already, hence the tribute name. Berlioz has mostly accepted him, because he is VERY confident. We did slow introductions, with sniffing under the door for a couple days and intro through a baby gate. Not too much hissing, but some chasing. But I think Berlioz kind of likes him. He did get furious with the little guy for cuddling too closely this morning. But he’s been pretty good, and I think he‘s mostly shocked and intrigued at the audacity and bravery of Alphonse. The Glamourpuss is fine too, for a few days, she hissed at him if he got too close, but ultimately, I think she just doesn’t like boy cats. She insists on eating away from them. I actually watch her get excited about eating, walk to the bowl, and takes one bite, looks over at the boys and leaves. She loses her appetite at the sight of them!
Alphonse is in the molting phase, so we aren’t yet sure if he‘s black or black smoke like Aleister was. He‘s six months old, and he’s an eating machine. And I have to say…three cats is not too many cats. I’m loving having a menagerie again after years. For a long time, I had two dachshunds, plus three cats, but eventually as they all got older, and when the dogs passed away, I think Aleister liked being the only cat. I have always had animals in my life, from when I was a baby, and I alway will. There has never been a period in my life, except for the two months after Aleister passed, when I did not have a pet. 💗
