New! export map as SVG and expanded token options

Greetings Brave Adventurers,

I've just added two new features to HEXROLL 2E this weekend that I hope you'll find useful:

Export map as SVG

You can now use the camera button in the map view to export any visible portion of your map as an SVG file. Maps will be exported using the detailed version of the tiles, regardless to your zoom level. Even if you zoom out to the continent level of a very large map, you'll still get the detailed art in the final image.

I've also added a quick tutorial to help you convert the exported SVG file to PNG in case you don't have access to other software for this purpose.

VTT token settings

Up until today, you were limited in the level of control you had over tokens. Now, double-clicking any token will open the token settings window, where you can adjust the following:

And yes, you can now use external PNG links as tokens and go beyond my spartan sense of style. The image in the post shows tokens by Peter Peko of Forgotten Adventures.

Finally, I've started curating a list of existing SCROLL mods and generators. This is still work-in-progress and I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Enjoy the crawl!

Comments

When I was experimenting with other tokens, I used dropbox to share the file links with others. This works really well, especially if you buy tokens from other creators and cannot / don't want to share them on a website.

Pen, Dice & Paper

I know that you can change the default token images with a custom png file, I just wanted to see if anyone had done this and how/where you store your image files at? The guide says it has to be accessible by all players so has anyone used a simple web page with a directory of their png files for using better token images? I don't mind the creature or or player tokens and think they be great especially for Shadow Dark, but if i could on the fly reskin the goblin token to look like a table or a bookcase and drop it on the map in a room i feel it would totally be worth it

Glad to see steady progress and quality of life improvements on this project!
