This one was really difficult to make.
Last Monday (20th) my Music Theory professor suddenly passed away in an accident.
I originally had something else planned for the end of August, but sort of as a way to help me cope with the loss, I wanted to make a video of what he gave me both as a teacher and as a musician.
He was a really, really good teacher, I can't emphasize that enough, and
a part of him being such a good teacher was how quickly he managed to bring the newbies up to speed.
Our music department had one of the highest dropout rates in the whole university, and it was partially due to how difficult the ear training components of the curriculum were, and a lot, if not most, couldn't handle it.
He was basically our Drill Sergeant in the unforgiving world of music academia, but without his help, and everything he gave us, I wouldn't be here today.
So this video is a thank you to the person who completely reshaped how I fundamentally look at music, and put up with all of those stupid questions.
Without him, Sideways wouldn't exist.
