This was one of the hardest videos I've ever made.
Not because I know that I'm not (or ever was) a great sight singer, or that there would be thousands of people with perfect pitch and tuners telling me I was all over the place, but because I didn't want to let my professor down.
On Monday August 20th my theory 1 and 2 professor Dr. Moody passed away in a sudden accident, and as a way of processing what had happened, I wanted to kind of preserve what he taught me in a video.
It's interesting, if you look at the comments section of my videos you'll always find people talking about how "I learned it differently" or how everyone in a certain part of the world uses a completely different system.
And whenever I think about those comments I think about how many different ways there are to look at a musical system, and how much influence your teachers have over you.
And I know that if it wasn't for Dr. Moody, I wouldn't be what I am today, he really kicked me into gear for that first year and without him I know, almost for a fact, I wouldn't have graduated.
Thank you all for your continued support, I literally couldn't do this without you.
But also,
Thanks Dr. Moody.
