Okay first off… really nice title. It’s all fancy and shit.
Though this place was known locally as the Lamont Mansion.
Okay, I wanna point out from some research I did - and some binging of the 13 O’ Clock Podcast - that this mansion burned down in the ‘80s, and did not look like this at all. IT LOOKED HORRIFYING AND DECREPIT AS FUCK.
Very eerie intro down this long dark hallway. Giving me the creeps.
Okay, so we’ve got the mom Ginger, the stepdad Arnold (Who’s a construction worker), and four kids: two daughters and two sons.
So this place has been empty for 40 years… GEE I WONDER WHY.
This family is used to moving. Honestly, I can understand them wanting to stay anchored then.
Wow this place is a mess. Immediately the daughters are like “WUT? NO. FUCK THIS PLACE.”
I will say, they did a pretty good job taking care of the place.
People are terrified of going into this place… huh.
Aaand Arnold becomes obsessed with the organ. That’s not creepy at all.
I kinda like that they didn’t show what the daughters saw. That is just unsettling.
You know it’s bad when they use the blue tint.
Arnold just stops going to work, and is easily angered… oh deary.
So he thinks the kids are taking his tools and that Ginger and the kids are opening the windows after he closes them. Jeez.
Oh that shot with him going “What do you want” is creepy as shit.
A voice just… called out to Ginger. NOPE.
OH GOD that wisp effect actually freaked me out.
Loving the eerie atmosphere so far.
“WHERE IS THAT RACCOON?” (Thank you, 13 O’ Clock Podcast)
Wait, they had a pet raccoon? AND HE KILLED IT. HOW DARE HE.
Aaand friends ditch. That face in the corner is terrifying. Like what the hell even?
AAAAAAND CREEPY ORGAN. DEAR GOD HELP US ALL.
So Arnold’s business has collapsed, and the family is losing money, meaning the heat and electricity have been shut off. They have to stay in the living room and burn the furniture just to stay warm, and get water from the lake.
Nice communicating Arnold’s potential to kill the family without any words at all.
Welp, bye Arnold. No idea where the hell you went, and kinda don’t wanna know.
Poor Ginger, honestly. She and her family all need fucking hugs… and therapy.
They’re in Canada? GOD BLESS.
Canada is the best though.
OF COURSE THE DAD IS OBSESSED WITH THE PLACE. WE CAN’T FUCKING ESCAPE FROM THIS HELLHOLE.
THIS HOUSE IS NOT A “WET PUPPY.”
Oh sure, drag your other kid (Ray) into this.
Oh they definitely wanna make this place into a tourist trap, prob capitalizing on the local legends of this place being haunted. Not too bad an idea, I have to admit.
I am here for Ginger’s sass.
Those ain’t bears. They ain’t even sea bears.
Yeah I’m noticing reused sets. The interior looks almost identical to the one from A Haunting in Connecticut.
I kinda wanna know what Ray saw… but at the same time, I’d rather not be traumatized.
Okay the possession thing was kinda creepy, I will admit.
Jonathan Carver… idk why, but at first I thought I heard Carter. Huh.
Also apparently he helped two warring Native American tribes create a peace treaty and was then given the land Summerwind was later built upon… why do I get the feeling the actual history of this all isn’t as “nice” as the show makes it out to be?
