I’m really enjoying the intro. Casey said in a Tweet that it’s called “Rising,” but I prefer to call it “Rising Like the Moon.” (lyrics here)
But it starts very somber then goes into usual rock.
I love the imagery in the lyrics, all revolving around nature and seemingly fate.
Lots of foreshadowing. Firstly, we were told we’re gonna learn more about Ozpin this volume, and it looks like it’s going to make everyone even more furious at Oz and finally question him. Poor Oscar though.
We see a bunch of guys around Ozpin: a knight; a sorcerer; and… a hipster? Perhaps previous reincarnations?
The woman is praying to a statue of a man who I believe is a past version of Ozpin? Perhaps Glynda before she met Ozpin, or maybe even one of the previous - or even the first - Maidens?
The hooded figure is in two scenes, and I believe it’s a different person in both.
First scene they’re walking through what appears to be the lower districts of Mistral. Their hands are normal and the people all around are holding umbrellas. Roman’s hat flies by and then is slashed. I believe this is Neo.
The second shot has the figure in much harsher, darker lighting. Their left hand is bandaged and they’re using Cinder’s glass sword. This has to be Cinder.
Perhaps Cinder will indeed go rogue and form an alliance of sorts with Neo?
I thought the old woman - who is still nameless at this point - was a Silver-Eyed Warrior, and now I’m further convinced. They zoom into her goggles, then to Ruby’s eye. Maybe this woman’s eyes were damaged or ripped out by Salem?
The creepy eldritch Grimm is definitely the Nuckelavee of this volume, meaning the Manticore was likely just a red herring. I’m glad, because now we’re left to wonder just how truly horrifying it is like we were the Nuckelavee.
