Toying With This Week (May 23 - May 29)

Upcoming: Tease Support

So I spent a fair bit of time this past week mocking up how a video/funscript player might work and have the basics in place. It's definitely going to be at least a multi-week project unfortunately if not longer. The biggest hurdle is how script to toy connections work in XToys and that it's really not designed for having the pattern selection be a user choice from within the script.

The other thing I've been thinking a fair bit about is that I'd really like Teases to be more user friendly and quick to set up (partially driven by patron questions about how many clicks it would take a user currently to run a given custom script...and the answer being like 50 😅). People are also starting to use the Script function to create video specific scripts and I'd thus really like to get the video/pictures + script to be a singular thing.

My current thought is:

I also might not release a separate funscript/video player and instead just make video selection/funscript selection be a type of setting a Tease can have. And that way it'll be possible to have a basic funscript player, or a multi-toy funscript player with no extra work on my end. And video selection needs to be a thing regardless because I don't intend to host videos.

----Past Weeks Changes----

Toy Limit Changes

Changes already discussed last week but they're all live now.

Script Random Pattern

One day I'll add pattern playlist support, but for now I've added the ability for scripts to go to a random pattern with a given tag. So you can at least for example have the toy change patterns every minute.

Android App Deep Links

I realized that it's not possible to click a session link and have the Android app open. So I added deep link support and any XToys links should now open the app to the correct page or connect to the given session.

Bug Fixes

It turns out that Android stops the GPS readings and the accelerometer readings when the screen is off (when using web code). So I ended up having to add Android specific code for both those features which took quite a while to get right. Android really doesn't like allowing apps to have frequent access to GPS (for good reason).

The Handy Updates

I added support for controlling the lower stroke position on The Handy when controlling its speed (as long as you're on V3 of The Handy's firmware).
