When the Appa salesmen says "a broke kid like you helped my kid earlier" when Subaru asks about any pickpocketing incidents, he was referring to Emilia. Emilia actually helped the little girl regardless of whether Subaru was there or not, and she helped her to find her parents again in that loop. That's why right at the beginning of the second episode of this cut (episode 3 technically, right after reunion with the witch episode ends ends), Subaru sees the flower that the little girl gave her in episode 1 as thanks for Subaru and Emilia helping her find her parents. That's why it flashed back really quickly to that moment when she gave Emilia the flower in episode 1. Emilia got it in this loop because she helped her again. And yes, Subaru slowed her so down much she would have showed up an hour or so earlier if he hadn't been with her, haha. I believe she even said in episode 1 right before he goes into the loothouse and they both die that he slowed her down.
