The funny thing is that I don't notice the new Shinichi at the end until two episodes later. I hope you are doing ok, I understand how these shows when done well can connect to our own personal lives. Take care.

Holy shit, I did not expect Parasyte to make me actually cry for a minute or two. Only a couple of tears, but damn. I don't think it was solely the show to be honest, as I was thinking about something really sad in my personal life that it was reminding me of at the moment, but the show certainly played a part in it as well with the moment. I definitely remember this episode from when I watched this 6 or so years ago as a tween. The Kana dying one, Shinichi's mother dying one, and this episode are 3 / 5 that I clearly remember from way back when. They all certainly hit much harder so far moreso than back then. Also noticed that they used "new" Shinichi during the last shot of the ED this time, but he's still "old Shinichi" like the rest of the ED's now after this episode, so it keeps the symbolism. Very nice. Can't wait for the next episodes.

It is quickly becoming one of my favorites, despite the emotional trauma :) Thanks, take care!

Despite not being the show's actual finale, for me this is definitely its emotional climax. Tamura Reiko's death really hits me hard, I've got a huge soft spot for characters like hers. I always hope that people have the ability to redeem themselves and her whole journey was the perfect portrayal of that kind of story. Great video as always!
