2020-05-28 13:13:48 +0000 UTCI grew up on Naruto and while I still have a soft spot for the series the message of "overcoming your destiny" felt cheap when the mc has that world's most powerful weapon inside him. On the other hand I love how everyone in HxH reacts to Gon - he's got beastly talent and spirit, but he has the same tools available to him as anyone else in this universe, he truly stands out as a character and not just because the writer gave him some powerful attack or something. Also love that Kurapika is motivated by revenge but it's not his whole character. HxH is wacky, sometimes too wacky for me, but its got really great characters.
