Zen Exclusive - Clannad After Story Episode 3 Reaction

Yeah, Maeda has written for most of and composed all of the music for Key's best known anime, you've probably heard of many of them: Kannon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters, and Angel Beats. Honorable mentions are Rewrite and Charlotte. Clannad is probably the most widely regarded as being the best, but my personal favorite would be Angel Beats. Honestly, if you see that an anime was produced or animated by studio Key, Jun Maeda has probably had a hand in it. - Just a bit of studio knowledge, I know its not something most people care about or spend any amount of time thinking about, but I find this stuff interesting.

All of the music for Clannad was composed by the same guy who wrote the story - Jun Maeda. He's a true genius when it comes to the slice of life genre, and the visual novel world. Maeda along with the Key studio perfected the style of game called "Nakige" or "Crying Game". It's a formula designed to make you care for the character's lives and personalities and elicit powerful emotional responses from the viewer/player. Its overall goal is to leave you thinking about it long after the story is over.

I forgot how much I liked this arc. And it is well placed, with Sunohara's character arc not happening until now after we've had the benefit of an entire season establishing their relationship. And I agree about the attention to detail, like focusing in on Mei's feet, or Sunohara's expressions when he walks away from the two of them. Very well done. Props to Sunohara's voice actor too
