Just a heads up, this and Monster episode 39 didn't get Zen Exclusive tags. I didn't notice these were uploaded for a bit because they weren't in there. Also yeah, they build up these characters that are so real and lovable, and when that emotional build up is at its peak something happens to shatter that picturesque world and now we have to see how the pieces fall. I'm also so glad that Clannad doesn't shy away from real tragedy, even if it hurts to see. The unexpectedness and suddenness of it is also shocking.

I liked how they used the visuals to convey the isolation and powerlessness that Tomoya felt during the delivery. And then "we should never have met", to say that about your wife is so powerful, and it's so wrong, but understandable after such an emotional shock. Still, ending it on that note puts knots in my stomach, this one hurt bad.

This has to be easily one of the most impactful episodes in all of anime. You’d never expect clannad to go down the route that it has. There’s a reason this is my favorite anime one reason being the strong emotional value and the deep connection that I have with tomoya Okazaki as a character. Even though I haven’t gone down a similar path as him in life I feel that almost everyone can relate to him as a character in some ways. Let’s see how next week goes can’t wait to see the next reaction.
