Aden watched the distant guns disappear in a flash, and smoke, then the night. Progress was slow, as the trenches stretched closer to the walls, day by day, inch by inch. It was excruciating! Aden and his battle mages had trained all their lives for this, but the marshal insisted that bringing more artillery into range was the prudent approach. It was the cowards approach. He thought back to the last fiery words he had with his father, and he felt that heat now. He was going to take that city, with or without permission. He would burn those figures that danced upon its walls. And he was going to make his family proud.
Ophelia studied the excavations with concern. The order had been given: Sabotage the enemy entrenchment efforts, spike the guns, eliminate their engineers. She had been volunteered to join the sallying party, her expertise with explosives being the attribute that betrayed her. She was no fighter, she was an engineer, being sent to kill her kin. As she waited on the wall, her face blackened with charcoal, the knights around her shuffling with quiet excitement, she placed her hand on the great arcane cannon that stood defiant over the enemy; The cannon she had made, and it felt warm to the hand that had made it. She took that warmth with her, as she descended the walls in the dark, surrounded by falling shadows.
Welcome back adventurers to the Siege of Larenne, Part 2!
This 2nd part of the 3-part series allows you to run multi-stage siege encounters, and follows the first few months of the siege. After the initial attack, the enemy have encircled the city and started encroaching towards it with trenches, with the aim of bringing their formidable siege engines to bear. Attacking the walls will require skill, tactics and a fair deal of luck in order to seize and hold them. Will you sally forth to sabotage the enemy batteries or lead the assault with waves of siege towers? How you save or take the city is up to you; But Larenne is a tough nut to crack, and she won't go down without a fight!
The collection comes with 205 map variants and 18 themed assets so that you can run the perfect epic battle for your campaign.
