He sent my boss (the museum's director) a TON of art that he'd done as a gift. A lot of people sent my boss random shit, so I started writing his thank you note when I realized who I was typing it out to. I ran into his office and was like "how do you know Michael Alig?" He goes "that name is familiar...he's famous, right? In New York?" I was like "yeah, he's a murderer!" My boss asked for a minute alone, then called saying "we don't need a thank you note for that one." And that's how I learned Michael Alig was out of jail.
