267. Frame Rate: Snowpiercer (Feat. David Bell)

Michael and Abe are joined in this early access Frame Rate by David Bell! Remember when Chris Evans told us that babies taste the best? Remember when that director/writer won an Oscar for Best Picture? We stamp our approval like so many bug protein bars in this episode. Special thanks to Karl P for suggesting this one through the Pick the Flick patreon tier!

In catching up on slightly older Frame Rate eps, I nearly lost it while in the laundry room, listening to you all talking about eating babies. You're hazardous in public (and it's awesome).

I find the premise/world of the movie to be dumb. Whenever I use the nit-picky part of my brain that tries to imagine how this world works, I find it profoundly lacking. However, I do love the themes/ideas (heavy-handed though they be) and the tight screenwriting - with its well-executed plants and payoffs. Also, I find the narrative framework of fighting through a sequence of fantastical train cars enjoyable. Have you guys seen Train to Busan? I'm not normally a big zombie fan, but I found the writing of the film to be quite satisfying.
