366. Frame Rate: Labyrinth (Feat. Teresa Lee)

What power!? The power of the bean! Teresa Lee returns to Frame Rate! In this episode, the gang discusses the philosophical and symbolic efforts of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth. Why is Jareth doing this? What are the goblins? What does the Bog of Eternal Stench represent? It couldn’t be as simple as buttholes, right? I mean, it really seems like it philosophically represents somebody’s butthole, but we should go deeper. Teresa’s there to take us on the journey of how Labyrinth can still influence and impact adults, as it was her first viewing! Abe and Michael, to no one’s surprise, wore out VHS players with this tape.

Frustrating that Terrsa kept arguing that concepts were real and that is the same thing as what the movie was about

teresa absolutely whips as a guest. great pod

On the Fieries as drugs metaphor: the scene is literally a group of broken people trying to make Sarah broken, too.

Tim Carroll

Weird. Sorry about that!

At about 59 minutes we lose Michaels and Abes tracks for a moment. Theresa says something then there is silence and then she reacts like someone said something.

I liked the different interpretations
