472. Star Trek: The Next Futurama 23 - How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back

If you forgot, this show takes a Futurama episode and thematically pairs it with an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, which works surprisingly well.

This episode David and Michael discuss the nature of “loose horse shit” as well as answer the question of what space tastes like. This episode they also dive into the Futurama episode where we learn Hermes’ backstory.

This show exclusively releases every other episode here on the Small Beans patreon. Wimmy Wam Wam Wozzle!

472. Star Trek: The Next Futurama 23 - How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back

Comments

In regards to Klingon diets. In Voyager, 7 of 9 starts living out people the borg have assimilated, and the first thing we see is her acting like a Klingon ransacking Neelix's kitchen. She throws aside like 12 different fruits and vegetables till she finds a piece of meat, which implies that klingons do have specific tastes and preferences, and arent just garbage disposals.

I kind of hate Birthright - I was re-watching the show about a year ago, and this was the episode where it hit me that all of the Klingon women look... well, weird. So I looked up the episode and sure enough, they're all white women in black face, same as Alexander. Ugh.

Tim Carroll

3rd person. I'm usually seeing some avatar that is assigned to represent me. It could be a completely different person or Bart Simpson

Scottie Wottie

Do y’all dream in third person or first person?

Sam Shelton

Four lights was Cardassian.

I agree with Dave. live things taste like blood. Worf will just eat whatever. also I can lucid dream. But If I go back to sleep it warps the first dream. also, chris hadfeild said that space smelled like burnt steak...so Swaim's probably right about space taste.

I too think that spiders are relatively aware, Swaim. Except I think theyre scheming and I do not trust them.

Shane Miller

I would love if on one of the podcasts Dave is on that he's just let loose on his tangents to see how far it would go to it's natural conclusion.
