2025-06-20 19:54:24 +0000 UTCI remember an episode of After Hours where you also made an off hand comment about Andrew Dice Clay being the master of the universe. You freaking out about him in this video made me look into his material which I was totally unaware of prior to this, though I’m a little bit older than you. Was it just that he was such a phenomenon in the 80s that makes you like him? Some aspect of standup that I don’t really get that makes him great? Because my quick perusal of his on stage persona and so-called jokes he was delivering aren’t exactly in line with what I thought you would be into. Is your love of him ironic in someway? What am I missing, because I listened to a very good lecture on him about how when you make weak people the butt of jokes and provide a venue for people to openly hate on them for laughs, that’s hate speech. What’s his appeal? Especially in this day and age. (Apologies if you’ve explained this before)
