DECEMBER SPONSOR TIER rewards!

Merry Christmas to you all! I really wish you some good celebrations during these days, and hoping next year we will be better than this one!

A note on this month's style:

I want to share with you this month's thoughts on the STYLE AND WAY I did the rewards, since I find it quite interesting and useful , specially if anyone is trying to learn new painting, coloring or drawing techniques.

As you may see, this group of pictures show a very messy and "free" stroke, that is due to me working with each one from scratch without any previous sketch or idea. That is, I went through each with a thick brush, the base color, and tried to find the shapes and volumes while painting. I must admit it was super scary at the beginning, since you don't have any kind of support on a sketch or idea, so you rely only in your ability to improvise, or rather create, through the marks and spots you put on the canvas.

Thats why this month is super special! I learnt a lot through these exercises, like ECONOMY OF LINE (or strokes) where you can really create a figure with few strokes considering you can actually visualize the shape beforehand and without a sketch.

It was a challenging exercise, but I'm very happy with the result and very proud about the stuff I just practiced. Its very interesting how you can create pictures by actually THINKING and not just drawing and wasting energy in the canvas without any direction.

So that's why I'm loving this set so much and means quite a lot to me!

But anyways, I hope that makes some sense, in any case, I want to thank everyone from this and previous months of the Sponsor Tier, since thanks to them I've been able to try out new ideas and get to develop not a style, but a way of thinking regarding art and digital painting. Each month is a good building block to what I may call an art skill, and I'm very happy that so many of you had shown so much interest in these experiments!

Next year I will continue with these, trying new things, maybe getting back to other basic exercises like sketches, very tight linearts, more flat colors, quick paintings, etc.
