Mountain of Conflict
2022-04-03 09:25:19 +0000 UTCDave's point about working a corporate job while making creative content reminded me of something that author Brandon Sanderson said. To paraphrase it, the best job for a writer is probably something like being a brick layer. His point is that when we are only focused on our creative output, the quality of our work suffers. Having a "mindless" job outside of our area of creative focus is not only financially stabilizing, it also focuses our creativity.
