Breath Of a Hero Chapter 51

Chapter 51: Interview and Abridge History

“Ah hello there,” came a blue skinned woman, “My name is Chitose Kizuki, it is a pleasure to meet you Mr. Yushiro.”

Yushiro forced a smile but with his years of talking with political figures, he smile was so convincing many people had no idea it was fake, “It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Ms. Kizuki. I wasn’t aware we would meet face to face this soon.”

Chitose smiled, “Normally yes but I was very excited to meet you. I’ve been a reporter for years and finding out there’s a man who has lived for over two centuries thanks to his quirk is a goldmine.”

“Ah there it is, so what would you like to know first,” said Yushiro before narrowing his eyes, “Or rather what would you like to know without the cameras recording?”

Chitose's smile grew slightly showing genuine excitement and not a fake facade, “Oh will get there when the time comes, but officially, first I’ve noticed on the notes you only go by Yushiro, no family name.”

Yushiro’s smile faltered as if remembering a bad memory, “I was climbing a tree when I fell and broke my arm badly, when I cried out in pain my family came running immediately though when they got to me I was already healing, snapping my bone right back into place. My father realized I had a quirk or the super power ability that freaks were getting all over the world. In the next few hours I was on the streets and when I tried to go back home my father caved my face in with a baseball bat. I never saw my family again after that, so I decided right then and there I don’t have any family nor use for a family name.”

As he was talking it was clear that Chitose was trying to memorize everything he was saying and her eyes kept darting to her assistant who was not only recording his words but also writing it down, ‘This man is telling the truth, when I heard the person I was interviewing changed I was happy I wasn’t interviewing another hero but when I had heard it was the oldest person alive I thought it was a joke or a lie, but when those government agents showed up, well at first I thought I was about to get arrested but when they told me about Yushiro and the added security I knew it was real.’ She then looked at Yushiro, ‘Now having him right in front of me I know it’s real, as a reporter I have met hundreds upon hundreds of people and I’ve learned how to get a read on all of them and this one here is ancient. The way he stands, the way he looks, the way his eyes stare right through me. Not even the war veterans I’ve met had eyes like him. He truly has lived through it all. Screw the Liberation army, right now I’m a reporter and I have something bigger than All Might right in front of me.’ As she looked at Yushiro her image of him began to glow gold, ‘This won’t be my last interview with you.’

‘My god, all she’s missing is a bit of drool coming out of her mouth,’ Thought Yushiro before clearing his throat, “Is there anything else you would like to ask me before the interview?”

Chitose blinked, “Oh yes, there was also one more basic question, your quirk? Would you mind explaining it because I’m rather confused on how someone from the start of the quirk era has such a strong quirk.”

“Simple actually,” said Yushiro giving her a bored look, “You see in everyones body as we age our cells divide through mitosis, this also happens if someone is injured or if anything happens in the body, my cell structure is simple different to the point that I heal faster and my cells divide extremely slower than anyone else. If you wrote it on paper and showed it to a doctor or scientist it would be rather simple but it also causes my blood to be poisonous to other people.”

Chitose nodded not fully understanding it but enough to see that it was something simple, “I see well thank you, I do believe my director would like it if would explain it briefly during the interview so everyone can understand it better, if that is alright with you of course.”

“Certainly.”

“Thank you and now if you’ll excuse me I have to go follow up with my team for pre show briefing before we get started.” said Chitose before leaving with her assistant.

Tomo quickly brought out her phone, “Chitose Kizuki.”

“Yep, add her to the list, I do not want her coming to the house.” said Yushiro.

“Way ahead of you.” Tomo as she too could see the woman coming to the house with several other reporters.

Yushiro inwardly groaned, “This isn’t going to go fast enough, is it?”

Tomo nodded, “Would you like some tea, sir?”

“Coffee, please.”

~o~

Melissa sat down on the couch as she turned on the tv and saw what time it was. “Hey guys, Yushiro Sensei’s interview is going to be starting in an hour.”

“Then we need popcorn.” stated Yae.

“That sounds nice,” said Ochako as she moved to the kitchen feeling several pains from around her body, “Man training today was fierce.”

“Yeah, I guess everyone is trying to step up after the sports festival,” said Melissa, “Even Izuku stayed late.”

“No surprise there,” said Yae, “With everything that happened, I’m just surprised we aren’t helping him.”

Ochako put the popcorn bag in the microwave and hit start, “Shouldn’t we be trying to slow him down. I mean I feel like he might be pushing himself too hard, especially since he just got out of the hospital.”

“That also might be a good point,” said Melissa, “The only people I’ve seen him listen to are Yushiro sensei, Uncle All Might and his mom.”

“Then maybe we should also be those people,” said Ochako before getting a serious look, “We need to be there for him so he can focus and not overwork himself.”

“So he can be focused?” as Yae wondered what Ochako ment, “You know now that you mention it, Izuku has been distracted a bit every now and then before refocusing. It’s like he’s there one moment before drifting off real quick and then coming back just as fast. Is he worried about something? Did losing to that Kokushibo guy get to him that much?”

Melissa shook her head, “He only started doing that recently after he left the hospital.” Melissa then took out her phone, “We all need to talk and just get this over with.”

~o~

Izuku stood in the middle of the training gym with his sword in hand facing a training dummy, he closed his eyes and an image of Kokushibo appeared before him, ‘He’s fast and strong. He’s had over a thousand years of experience.’ Izuku then opened his eyes and in a flash sliced the training dummy in half. Izuku then looked back at the broken dummy and shook his head, “No, that would never have connected with him.” He then looked down at his sword, “Is it because I’m not a real Demon Slayer, because I’m not a killer?”

“Of course not you dumb brat.”

Izuku then almost jumped out of his skin as he quickly turned to see Gran Torino standing near him. “Gran Torino sensei, what are you doing here?”

“I came here because I thought that loud brat had left the lights on.” said Gran Torino. “Do you have any idea what time it is?”

Izuku blinked and quickly pulled out his phone, seeing the clock, “Oh I had no idea it was so late, I’ll clean up and close down the gym.” as Izuku quickly sheathed his sword and began to grab his stuff.

Gran Torino sighed, “Hold it,” stopping Izuku as he turned to the old hero. “Stand up straight boy.” Izuku did as he was told and he could tell Gran Torino was examining him, “Boy you’ve just gotten out of the hospital, I expected this from the loud brat but I thought you would be better than that.”

“I’m making sure I’m not going too far but I need to get stronger, sir.” said Izuku, “Demon’s are-”

“I know that brat,” said Gran Torino cutting Izuku off, “We all know that, when I met Yushiro and he told me his tale, it turn my world upside down know that all of our quirks are abilities come from monsters of old, I began to study all the files and books Yushiro had. I came to the obvious conclusion that demons were far worse then most of our modern day villains. They are stronger, faster and have killed more people than others.”

“That’s why I need to get stronger,” said Izuku as he held his sheathed blade. “I have to.”

“Because you bare the name Demon Slayer.” said Gran Torino causing Izuku’s body to tense, hitting the nail on the head, “You dumb brat.”

“I know the breathing techniques,” Izuku said quickly, “I know the history and I’m following in their footsteps.”

“You idiot.” Gran Torino quickly used his cane and hit Izuku in the leg causing Izuku yelp and rub his leg, “You and Toshinori, I swear if I didn’t know the brat I would have called you his son.”

Izuku's face turned a slight red, “Eh?”

“Don’t take that as a complement brat,” said Gran Torino, “After Nana’s death Toshinori left to train in America and I had thought, hoped, that he would have returned and learned from his experience there, I thought he did when he got Nighteye as a sidekick, but that fool still didn’t learn and got injured because of it.” Izuku became more confused, “He’s only now learning his lesson, I was quite relieved when he had told me that he would still continue to teach even after his surgery increased his time with his quirk. I thought you would be smarter than him and figured it out sooner.”

Izuku tried to think but was coming up blank, “What do you mean?”

Gran Torino sighed, “Do I have to spell it out for you? Those earrings belonged to Tanjiro, yes?” Izuku nodded, “When he went to go and face off with all those Demons, was he alone?”

“Of course not he had-” Izuku paused as he realized what Gran Torino was trying to tell him.

“Demon Slayer wasn’t the name of some hero, it was the name of a group that sacrificed many lives in order to achieve what a single person could not.” Izuku then felt his legs give out as he sat down on the floor, Gran Torino then continued, “Even now, you can do more as a group then you could do alone, Bakugo is even realizing that and here you are trying to shoulder this mess all on your own.”

“I…” Izuku then remembered his friends, his mind went back to the Mall incident when he tried to get Eri a milkshake, “I told them I wanted to find other pillars to hold up the world with me…”

“What happened?”

“I forgot,” admitted Izuku as he looked back. “After the USJ incident and the revival of the spider demons, I just kind of forgot. Sure I was training more on my own but I wasn’t helping anyone else, I wasn’t giving advice, I wasn’t even trying to help Ojiro understand his breathing.”

“Just because you might be at the center of all of this, doesn’t mean you are alone there, several people can help you and vice versa, so don’t try and do this all on your own.” said Gran Torino, “So take a breather and relax, don’t follow All Mights steps and become secretly obsessed with hero work and hunting down your villain,” he then noticed Izuku raised eyebrow, “After All Might became a pro hero he was extremely focused on All For One hunting down leads and trying everything he could to rat him out, he did this all in secret of course as far as the public and his friends were concerned he was all smiles, in reality he was just holding it all in, he missed a lot because of it and had no social life. I know he is your hero boy but you shouldn’t follow in every single one of his footsteps, be better. Worry about your school life, get a girlfriend.”

Izuku’s face shifted as a flood of emotions ran through his brain. “Eeeehhh.”

“What the hell was that?” asked Gran Torino who was now confused, “You alright?”

“Yeah just dealing with some stuff is all.” said Izuku as four girls entered his mind, “Just girl problems.” as his face turned bright red.

Gran Torino just laughed, “Maybe that’s the first problem you have to deal with before you try tackling anything else.”

Izuku looked up at Gran Torino, “I don’t suppose you have advice on what to do when multiple girls like you.”

“Nope,” said Gran Torino as he began to walk away. “I’m afraid you’re going to need to figure that part out on your own. Clean up here and head home boy.”

“Yes sir, Gran Torino Sensei.” said Izuku as he began to clean up.

Gran Torino stopped after he walked out the door, “I hope you were paying attention brat, cause one day I won’t be around to give out the speeches.”

“Hey I was going to talk to him,” said All Might quickly, “You just beat me to the punch is all.”

“Oh really then what I heard early when I was talking to the Bakugo brat, was you rehearsing your lame speech.”

“It was a work in progress,” responded All Might flustered before quickly before calming down, “Though I think you did it better and I don’t think I would have gotten it right.”

“You would have told him to leave All For One and the Demons to yourself,” said Gran Torino, “That would have just made him worry more about you shouldering everything like you always do, he looks up to you know, not just as a hero.”

“I know,” said All Might before remembering what he heard them talking about. “Do you really believe he could have been my son?”

“Ha no, he’s far smarter than you and nowhere near as dense as you were.”

“Dense?”

“Hell I still remember all the other teachers back in the day talking about how many hearts you must have broken.” said Gran Torino as he remembered his old teaching days.

“What?” Toshinori blinked as he tried to remember his highschool days, “What are you talking about, I had friends in highschool but nobody had a crush on me.”

Gran Torino gave All Might a deadpan stare, “Yep still dense.” as he began to walk away, “Don’t let that woman get away now, you might not get another chance boy.” as he left All Might wondering.

“Did girls like me back in highschool?” All Might wondered in silence.

~o~

Katsuki Bakugo made his way home and quickly made it to his room to do his homework. He had already done his extra training for the day, and now he was focusing on making sure he was passing his classes. His eyes then drifted over to the notebook that Momo had given him. He then remembered his talk with Gran Torino and gave a small groan before reaching over to Momo’s notebook and began to look through it. “Holy shit.” said Katsuki to no one as his eyes attempted to register the fine details Momo had written down, ‘What the hell… I thought only Izuku was the only person to go this indepth about a quirk,’ He thought as he then began to rapidly flip through the pages, ‘How the fucking hell did she get this much from the notes I gave her about my quirk, no wonder she’s the number one student in our grade when it comes to academics.’ He then made it to the last page with notes and found it was roughly a fifth of away from the end of the notebook. “Damn, it’s going to take me a while to read through all this.”

“KATSUKI, DINNER!” yelled his mother from down stairs.

Katsuki slowly got up from his seat and was about to leave the room but stopped as he glanced back at the notebook, “Eh, might as well read it though dinner.” as he grabbed the notebook and went downstairs to eat.

Katsuki walked down stairs to see his parents at the dinner table, his mom was setting the dinner on the table, while his dad was turning on the TV. “Ah perfect timing Katsuki,” said His dad, Masaru Bakugo, “Your teacher's interview is about to start.”

Katsuki blinked for a moment, “Ah gotcha.”

Mitsuki then noticed her son was holding something, “Katsuki, what that?” as she pointed to the notebook.

“Just some notes,” said Katsuki as he took a seat and opened the notes, “Need to get some good ideas to improve my training.”

“Training, training, training,” repeated Mitsuki in a dry tone, “You know if you keep that up you’ll never get a girlfriend.”

Katsuki got a small tick mark on his forehead, “That isn’t exactly a priority at the moment.” He then noticed that the news channel was hyping the interview that was on next. Katsuki wasn’t exactly excited for the interview but he couldn’t deny it had his attention.

~o~

Yuki couldn’t focus on anything at the moment, she vaguely heard about the interview on the tv but right now she was more worried about the other three girls that were sitting around the coffee table in the apartment. Yuki’s eyes drifted from Ochako who was a little nervous, to Melissa who had her eyes closed as she thought of something, to Yae who was the saving grace of the group as she looked like she didn’t really care what was going on. ‘This is not what I had expected when Melissa asked me to drop by. What exactly is this about?’

Yae then blinked before looking at the other girls, “Okay, that's it. What the hell is everyone’s deal here because the tension in the room is too high.”

The three girls turned to look at Yae in confusion. “Um Yae, I think we’re here to talk about something important.” said Ochako who was still nervous.

“About what?”

“We’re here to talk about Izuku,” said Yuki, ripping off the band aid. “About all of us…well…trying to date him.”

“Yes,” said Melissa firmly, “We need to have this discussion, I feel the best move forward is to talk about this.”

Yae blinked for a moment, “Oh well I have nothing scheduled coming up until the work study so if you guys want to date him first, go for it.” The three girls looked at Yae again, this time uneven with more shock and faces even more red, “I just want to have at least one training date, like he promised during the sports festival. Other than that I’m good.”

The three girls froze for a moment, “Uh…what?” squeaked Ochako.

“Though now that I think about it, I would like a few days with him during the summer break for a camping trip,” said Yae with a very slight blush on her face, “I miss the mountains.”

Yuki and Ochako’s faces burst into bright red, “WAIT WHAT!?”

Yuki stood up and leaned forward to Yae, “Don’t you think that’s a bit fast!?”

“HOLD IT!!!” yelled Melissa as she held her hand out, “Yae…are you…saying…you…you’re okay with all of us…dating…Izuku?”

“Huh?” Yae blinked for a moment before raising an eyebrow, “Aren’t we all dating him already?” The room immediately fell silent at Yae’s words, the only noise came from Yuki sitting back down in her chair. “Did none of you guys realize that, man you guys slow.”

“WHAT?!”

“Wait a moment, Yae!” said Ochako quickly. “Are you saying you’re okay with all of us dating Izuku at the same time?”

“Sure why not?” Yae said in such a nonchalant tone that the girls had to double check what they heard was correct.

“Why not?” repeated Melissa.

Yuki took a deep breath, “What would your parents think?”

Yae thought for a moment, “My dad might have something to say but I don’t think my mom would care too much as long as I was happy.”

Ochako then raised her hand, “What about everyone at school or what about the public?”

“Huh? I never cared for a second what other people really thought about me or my life. I've met so many people in my life who have judged me and told me how I should live my life, but none of them are in my life anymore. I’ve forgotten about most of them. Though I’m not alone here this time so if it bothers you guys we can keep it a secret or something from the others for now.”

Melissa was next, “And there’s nothing about this you find weird at all, or anything in your brain telling you it’s wrong or that Izuku is…he…may have…other ideas…for you?” finished Melissa with every word making her feel shame. ‘Did I really just think that about Izuku?’

Yae was silent for a moment before bursting into laughter. “You’re kidding right, Izuku?! We both know he would never do that to any of us, he doesn’t see us as trophies, Melissa. I know you like to think too much but we both know that would never happen with him. He cares about us, all of us.” said Yae with absolute confidence in Izuku. “I never really thought our situation was weird, then again our lives are by fair not average, to be honest part of me just thought of it in a nature sort of way.”

“Nature?” wondered Yuki out loud.

“In the animal kingdom it’s natural for animals to have several mates, look at lions for example.” said yae before thinking of something else, “You know years ago my grandfather told me to look at the future and imagine yourself in that future. I never could do it, too much thinking and I like living in the present…but whenever I did imagine my future as a kid, I imagined myself on a hunt chasing a massive creature. Then I started training with Izuku and Melissa, and suddenly I saw Melissa and Izuku with me on that hunt. We came to UA and became friends with Ochako and suddenly the image was hunting a big monster in the city with Izuku, Melissa and Ochako.” Yae then looked over at Yuki. “And when you came around being direct to asking Izuku out like you did, it made that image so much clearer, it made me realize how I felt about Izuku. It also made me think about our situation and I’m okay with it, I also thought all of you were okay with it as well. Do you guys have a problem with it?”

Yae’s question made the others silent for a moment, Ochako began to fiddle with her fingers, “Well…kind of I guess.” as Ochako thought about it.

“To be honest I didn’t think I had much of a chance,” admitted Yuki, “Even though I met him before the rest of you, I know he’s spent a lot more time with all of you. If it wasn’t for Ten giving me that push, I don’t know if I would have asked him out.” Yuki then took a deep breath and reaffirmed herself, “I don’t want to live with regrets, I want to be with Izuku and I know he has feelings as well for each of you, so…”

“Actually what is Izuku’s opinion on all of this?” asked Ochako, “We’ve all kind of made our feelings clear but what about Izuku?”

Yuki thought about it for a moment, “That’s a good question.”

Melissa nodded, “This is about him so we need to maybe set up a meeting and ask.”

“Why?” asked Yae, “We already know that he likes all of us, he isn’t the type of guy to mess with us.” stated Yae before thinking of something, “Hell the only reason he hasn’t really done anything is most likely he knows how we each feel and if he does date one of us it will hurt the others, which would make him feel guilty…Actually he might not date any of us, unless he dates all of us since he doesn’t want to hurt any of us.”

The other girls all realized what Yae said was absolutely true. “You're right, he would never want to hurt any of us.” said Melissa.

Yuki smiled, “Because that’s just the kind of guy he is.”

“He’s our hero,” said Ochako with a smile.

“I can see that cute idiot doing something like,” said Melissa as she imagined Izuku nervously trying to date all of them, trying his best to keep them all happy. “We need to talk to him.”

Suddenly a knock on the door got their attention, “I’ll get it,” said Ochako as she stood up and walked to the door and opened it, “Hello- IZUKU!”

“Oh hey Ochako, Yushiro sensei’s interview is about to start and my mom was wondering if you guys wanted to join us to watch.” said Izuku.

“Nope,” said Yae as she walked up and grabbed Izuku’s shirt, “You’re joining us.” before pulling him into the apartment while Ochako quickly shut the door.

Izuku was then guided to the couch and noticed Yuki was also here as well, “Umm, what’s going on?”

Melissa placed a hand on his, “We need to talk.”

~o~

Yushiro took a seat on the set and watched as the camera and lights quickly turned towards him as Chitose began to set everything up and get into her professional head space. Yushiro then noticed the director signaling that they were about to go alive, ‘Smile Yushiro and stick to the story,’ he thought, ‘The sooner I get this over with the sooner I can go home.’

The greenlight went on on the main camera, “Hello and welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen.” announced Chitose, “I am Chitose Kizuki and on this special tonight we have the mysterious man who spoke to the criminal Kokushibo during the surprise villain attack during the UA Sports festival.” The screens showing the live feed changed from Chitose to show images of Yushiro confronting Kokushibo. “Now I know several of you have several questions and I know a few of you are questioning why I said Mysterious Man as many in the media are calling him a child, that’s because he’s not.” The images then changed to several images of government officials with Yushiro being pointed out in the background, “This man here, is named Yushiro and he is the oldest man in the world at the age of 224 years old. This information has been backed by our own government and sources and he is here today to talk to us right now.” The images on the screen reverted back to the live feed as Chitose sat down on a chair adjacent to Yushiro, “Hello there Yushiro and welcome to the show.”

Yushiro gave her and the camera a slight smile, “Thank you Chitose, for having me here today.” His posture and tone clearly conveyed a professional vibe, one that made it obvious for several who were watching that he was indeed not a child.

“Now one of the reasons you wanted to come on the show today was because you wanted to discuss and tell us about the villain known as Kokushibo.”

Yushiro nodded, “Yes, you see I know Kokushibo from nearly two hundred years ago.” This information shocking even Chitose, “I have spent my life trying to stay out of the spotlight to live a life of peace, the reason I’ve come to you tonight and agreed to be on this show is because I want to make clear the severity of the situation, as one of my worst fears have come to light, someone has successfully brought the dead back to life.”

The room went silent. Chitose being the professional she is, quickly collected herself, “I do hope you can go into further detail.”

“I can,” said Yushiro quickly, “You see I knew of Kokushibo years ago shortly after the first generation of quirks appeared, he fought and killed many people, even those that would nowadays be called heroes, he fought and slayed.”

Chitose thought it over remembering some of the videos where the two talked, “So then that conversation you two had wasn’t beating around the bush, he really was alive over a hundred years ago.”

“Yes he was,” said Yushiro, “I never met him back then but I had heard about him. After he got his power, many challenged him but none of them could defeat him until a group fought him, leaving only one survivor. He was dead, I confirmed it myself. Back in the day I was well known as the doctor who never aged. Since my quirk kept me young I became highly interested in the medical field, in doing so I became quite well known as I tried to help everyone whether they had quirks or not.”

“Wow…” was all Chitose could say at first as she felt the temperature in the room changing, “That’s quite something, I’m surprised I’ve never heard of him.”

Yushiro gave her a grimm look that sent a chill up the woman’s spine, “You have no idea the hell that was the dawn of quirks.” Memories flooded Yushiro as he remembered the violence, the carnage and destruction that was brought about. “Neighbors turned against each other, families murdered their own, people fell like flies hitting a bug zapper. I saw it all.”

For the first time in her career did Chitose feel the room get cold like it did, ‘Am I afraid to ask….Their have been times I didn’t ask questions due to the sensitivity of the question because it might hurt the interviewee but….this is different.’ as she looked into his eyes, ‘His eyes, he is willing to tell me anything to a certain degree, the question is do I want to know…’

‘This woman is quite impressive,’ thought Yushiro, ‘A normal reporter would have tried to laugh at what I just said, or continue with her questions, which depending on the question she knows I would give a brutally honest answer, one that might even upset her viewers.’

Chitose cleared her throat, “Are you saying that the League of Villains are reviving and bringing dead villains back to life?”

“That is absolutely correct,” said Yushiro before looking directly at the camera, “I know several people here might be wondering if this is such a serious topic and allow me to clarify that this is one of the worst crimes imaginable. As someone who has lived for over a hundred years, I have seen the worst humanity has to offer and those people might be returning to the world. Criminals, terrorists and any form of evil that the world had thought was long buried might be returning. I don’t know how they did but they did and we all should be worried.”

“Then what your saying is that the villains from the past are returning just like this Kokushibo man,” Chitose then remembered something, “What then does that mean that spider family that grabbed Kokushibo and helped All Might secure the building, are they too criminals that were brought back from the dead.”

Yushiro nodded, “Yes and that’s also something that worries me, I have no idea how those who died years ago will react to today's world. The story of the spider family is one that worries me. You see back during the dawn of quirks there were many people against quirks and they would hunt down those who had them. A family that all had spider quirks ran and lived in the mountains, trying to run and hide from their attackers, maybe to try and have some sort of peace of a family’s life. Though when people tried to hunt them down they fought back and killed. I never met them personally, by the time I heard of them they were already killed and they themselves had killed many. That much I know is true, I cannot confirm the rumors of cannibalism or abuse that happened on that mountain, all I can say about them is that if they were born today they wouldn’t have become criminals, they wouldn’t have had to fight for their lives. I just hope they can let the grudges of the past stay in the past and they can move on, and this goes for all who have awakened into this new world. Things have changed and those who were in power, in control are no longer here.”

~o~

“What the fuck is he doing?” asked Nogia as he and the rest of the spider family watched the tv show in complete shock.

“He’s giving us an out.” stated Rui who wasn’t expecting this at all.

“Uh why?” asked Komori.

Churin thought for a moment, “He might think it would be easier for everyone if we just surrendered.”

“But won’t they still want to gut us and experiment on us?” ask Puta.

“He might just stab us in the back.” said Yura.

“That’s not it.” They all looked to see it was Kokushibo with Gyutaro and Daki behind him. “He’s giving all of us an out. We have nothing tying us together and now's a chance for us to have a new life.”

“Don’t know if I trust it.” said Gyutaro, a little skeptical.

“It does sound like a trap but at the same time we’re quite a bit stronger than most,” said Daki, “We could probably handle it and the rewards for it might be nice.”

Kokushibo turned his head, “What is your opinion on this, Doma?” They all looked to see Doma leaning on the door frame.

Doma smiled, “I’m going to do what I always do and that's what I want.” He said before leaving.

Kokushibo then turned back to the television as Chitose continued to ask Yushiro some questions. “In any case this does give us a unique option we can use in the future.” As Kokushibo then began making plans in his head, he wondered what the rest of the League was taking this news.

~o~

“They are going to betray us.” said Overhaul as he looked at the TV from the bar, he then turned to Shigaraki who had been watching the TV in silence, “If you don’t do something quick, I will.” Shigaraki didn’t respond as he kept his eyes on the TV.

~o~

Masaru looked stunned, “So that teacher of yours really is over two hundred years old?”

Katsuki looked up from the notebook, “Yeah he’s a real old bag of bones.” before looking back down at the notebook.

“Katsuki, how are you not surprised by any of this,” asked his mother, “Are you even watching the TV at all?”

Katsuki looked up at his mother, “Why are you? You know a good chunk of this stuff already.”

“Yeah but not all of it,” said Mitsuki, “How do you not find this interesting? What are you reading?”

“Just some notes.”

Mitsuki and Masaru leaned in to look at the notes, “That’s a lot of notes.” said Masaru.

“That isn’t your handwriting,” noticed Mistsuki, “That handwriting is too good and…GIRLY! Did a girl give you her notes?”

“You have a girlfriend?” asked his father in surprise.

“She’s not my girlfriend!” said Katsuki trying his best to hold in his anger.

“Oooh, what’s her name, is she in your class?” asked Mitsuki, eager to know her son’s love life.

“I said we’re not dating.”

“Come on, you can tell us.”

“Oh shut it you old hag.” yelled Katsuki.

“Katsuki,” said his father in a calm tone, getting his attention, “Dating or not, did you atleast thank the girl for her help?”

“I’m helping her with combat practice in return.”

“Did you thank her though?”

Katsuki was getting annoyed, recently his father has been catching him on his manners trying his best in his own way to try and curb his son's attitude. Katsuki pulled out his phone, “Fine I’ll call and thank her now, happy?” as he began to dial Momo’s contact number.

“Yes, I am.” said his father with a smile, ‘Our hotheaded boy really is growing up, I guess it isn’t too late to teach him some manners’.

Katsuki heard the phone ring a few times, “If she doesn’t pick up I’m going to just leave a message.” The phone rang a few more times before the phone was picked up, “Hey-”

“Hello Sweetie.” Came Momo’s voice came from the other end sounding super sweet.

Katsuki’s face twisted in confusion, his mother’s face smiled from ear to ear while his dad’s face became confused by Katsuki’s face. Katsuki had to look at the phone number to double check he got the right number.

“Hey sorry but can you make this quick,” said Momo, “I’m in a bit of a hurry.”

‘What the hell is going on? She wouldn’t call me sweetie…unless she’s trying to get my attention.” Katsuki cleared his throat but kept his face serious. “Hey babe, I just had a question about the notes you gave me.” Mistuki almost squealed if it wasn’t for Masaru covering her mouth, he could tell something was wrong by how serious Katsuki was looking.

“Okay…what’s your question?”

Katsuki thought for a moment, ‘I have to ask something that would make it clear that something is wrong?’ Katsuki then turned the pages of the notebook before finding what he was looking for, “On page 57, you made a note by using my quirk for a heated blast may burn me, could I use that to burn others?”

“Yes that would be possible, I wrote a section about the potential for burning. You should be able to find it, I wrote a short table of contents in the front of the notebook, I write those in all my notebooks to keep track of things.” said Momo over the phone.

“Yeah you’re really well organized like that.” said Katsuki as he quickly turned to the front of the notebook, only to find there was no table of contents. ‘The only page here at the front is the personal info page, that Momo filled out with her name and address and how to contact her if it gets lost. That confirms it, Momo is in trouble, being held hostage!’ “Thanks, I'll look into that.”

“No problem sweetie,” said Momo. “I have to go but if you are concerned about any other dangers your quirk may have just check page 92, I summed up a lot on that page. Bye!”

“Thanks babe,” said Katsuki as the line cut out. Ignoring his parents asking him questions he quickly turned to page 92, “That last part ment something,” he quickly scanned the page and saw a single warning in the middle. “‘Loud explosive sounds may damage eardrums.’ Wait sound?!”

Momo felt the phone being pulled away from her ear, “There you see I didn’t tell him anything, Hibiki.”

Hibiki looked down at Momo, who was tied down by her forearms in a fancy chair shirtless with only a sports bra covering her chest, while holding Momo’s phone in her hand, “I’m a little surprised, I never expected you and Bakugo to get together.”

Momo was nervous but kept a strong front, “What can I say, he’s the best when it comes to combat and I’m the best when it comes to academics so we balance each other out.”

Hibiki looked at Momo with her cold eyes studying her before shrugging, “In any case that phone call will cost a few fingers.”

“WHAT NOOO!” yelled Momo as she turned her head over to the other side of the room, where her parents and all of their staff were tied down to chairs, with the exception of security as their bodies laid lifeless in between them. Momo watched as one of the ninjas raised their blade and brought it down on one of the butlers. He yelled in pain as three of his fingers fell to the ground. “YOU MONSTERS!!!” Momo cried out.

Hibiki just walked over to the table that had several snacks on it and picked up a wrapped twinkie. “What tipped you off Momo, us holding you hostage or us killing your security?”

“You won’t get away with this.” said Momo as tears began to roll down her eyes.

“Wow you said that with a bit more confidence than last time.” as Hibiki began to walk back toward Momo while unwrapping the twinkie, “You maybe smart Momo, but I’m not an idiot, I don’t know what you told Bakugo but it has cost you ten minutes.”

Momo’s eyes widened with horror. “But I should have more time than that. The phone call wasn’t that long, I can’t make- gmrkhgg” Momo was cut off by Hibiki shoving the twinkie in her mouth.

Hibiki held Momo by the mouth and forced her to look her in the eyes, “Yes you can and you will, if you don’t give us what I asked for in the next five minutes another one of them will die.” Momo began to shake slightly as she swallowed part of the twinkie and began to activate her quirk once more, “Good and once you complete that order I have a few others I need you to do.” as Hibiki let go of Momo as she saw another few blades come out of her hostage. “And remember if you don’t complete each order in the time frame I give you, another one of the servants dies and if we have another distraction like that again, it will be your parents on the chopping block next.”

Momo swallowed the rest of the twinkie as she began to quickly make the weapons that Hibiki requested, as she did she began to silently cry, ‘Bakugo..anyone…please save us.’
