Chapter 14 Test Results

To say that class F was nervous would have been the understatement of the century, a lot was on the line this time around, especially for Akihisa. “Oh man, what if I failed.” muttered Akihisa to himself as he was walking to school. ‘I know I didn’t put Alexander the great as my name this time, but still…’ The test had been last Friday, but he was still nervous as all hell, so much so that he didn’t notice his friend until he slapped Akihisa in the back, “Ah Yuuji, what was that for?”

Before the twins could answer, a student fell to the ground, his eyes staring at the board in shock, “impossible, it’s impossible, there's no way this is correct. It has to be fake, this is impossible.”

“And as for what’s wrong with him, take a look at the board,” said Hideyoshi. “It’s our midterms.”

“What?” said Akihisa as he looked at the board, “Since when do they post our midterms scores in the hallway?”

“I’m guessing it has something to do with which calls came in the top 50.” said Hideyoshi.

“Holy shit,” slipped Yuuji as he realized what Hideyoshi was saying, “The top fifty should have classes A, B and C but…”

“This time, it’s A, B and F.” said Yuuko with a sigh, “I still can’t believe you beat me.”

They all looked at the top scores and seated at third place was Yuuji. “I GOT THIRD!” Yuuji yelled in surprise.

“Wait, what did I get?” asked Akihisa as he began looking at the back of the board, “Where’s my name?”

“You’re looking too far back,” Yuuko as she pointed at the board, “You see those stars next to everyone's names, that means you aced the test. The top 28 students in our year aced it, so if you follow that and go backwards…”

Akihisa knew what she meant and found number 28 and slowly started going up, which he didn’t need to go far, as he found his name in 24th place. “I…I passed.”

“Thanks sis,” said Hideyoshi to his sister, “I doubt we could have done this without you, thanks for helping us out.”

Yuuko was surprised for a moment before composing herself, “It was no problem, it was kind of fun helping you and your friends out, but I doubt you would have needed my help. I’ve always told you brother, you could always ace your classes if you’d just apply yourself and I hope this proves it. Whatever I can do, you can do.” She said looking away trying to be a supportive sister.

Hideyoshi was somewhat surprised by the level of support but smiled, “Same right back atcha,” as he raised a hand. “You can do whatever I can do.” Yuuko smiled and gave him a high five.

“UNACCEPTABLE!” Shouted Kyouji, ruining the moment. Kyouji glared at the group with fury in his eyes, “I can’t accept this, it’s impossible, you all must have cheated.”

“Kyouji calm down,” said a girl behind him.

“No, Yuuka, these class F fouls must have cheated,” As Kyouji accused class F. “I can see Himeji passing, but these idiots, there’s no way. Even with a university professor as a teacher would they have a chance of acing a test let alone passing. The only way is if they cheated.”

“I think it would be best if we all head to class.” offered Hideyoshi, “Class will be starting soon and I don’t think any of us want to be caught being late for class.”

“I don’t listen to class F trash.” stated Kyouji before calming down as he realized the time, “But I do get to class before the bell, so you’re in luck.” As he then turned and walked away.

“Wow, no final words or anything?” asked Akihisa.

“That guy is all bark and no bite.” said Yuuji.

“I’m sorry about him,” said Yuuka with a slight bow.

“Hey don’t sweat it,” said Hideyoshi. “You really shouldn’t sweat it when others are letting their own egos get to them. What they do is on them, not you.”

“I…I suppose you’re right.” said Yuuka now hesitates about her boyfriend. She gave one last bow before walking away.

“Well that was something.” stated Akihisa.

“That could be trouble later.” said Yuuji as he watched Kyouji leave. ‘I’ve got a real bad feeling about that guy.’

“Well we’ll all be in trouble if we don’t head to class,” said Yuuko. “The bell will ring here in a little bit.”

Hideyoshi checked the time, “You’re right, we should be heading to class. Catch ya later sis.”

“Just tell your sister we’ll be over soon.”

“Many of your students are qualified to move higher up, so you need to ask them if they want to switch classes.”
