Happy Friday!
As this week closes out, I wanted to share my latest progress on the edition update coming in 1.15. This week I spent most of my time building a system to separate stats for different editions so that all the same information you got before is still accessible, just under the parent's page now.
Games that have editions will be able to cycle through the main stats via a dropdown as seen in the screenshot above. The default view will include the parent game + all its editions, the next will be a way to see only the parent's stats and then each edition on its own. You'll still see these same numbers when going to an edition's game page directly but this will provide an all-in-one place to see them with the parent.
Editions aren't as logged as the parent in most cases, but this feature come more in handy as other game types are collapsed into editions later on. Such as bundles, expanded games, some remakes, ports, etc... More on that topic after launch as I think the situation for each of those games can be more unique.
Stats was a big one to get right and I think I'm getting closer to completing the foundation that the edition system is built on. From here it mainly feels like polishing from the bottom up to make sure everything is integrated as smoothly as possible.
I've also already starting taking some feedback based on last week's post and have tweaked the UI further to help close that empty space on the left side. Still not done yet though!
Next up is re-visiting how the reviews section is laid out, along with any other remaining game page elements. But until then!
Best,
MrProg
