1.15 Preview #3 | Edition Search

Dropping by for a quick update on another aspect that game edition combining will change, that being search! Above you can see a list of results for "doom dark premium" which today would yield 0 results. Now you get Doom: The Dark Ages right at top with its premium edition recommended as a subtitle since it detected an edition in the query. The search algorithm has been updated to use more of a token approach by looking at each word in your query and finding best matches based on more tokens matching.
I also took this chance to add some much requested info to the results, such as platform data and game category. Overall I think this yields a more functional search! I'm hoping for a bigger search expansion with filters in the future but I hope these changes will be a positive step forward in the meantime.
Look for a more general update on the progress of 1.15 in this month's developer update.

Hey! Just wondering, if the editions update will affect the 'Series Progress' tabs on the stats page? For example I recently beat Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, but in the 'Series Progress' section of the game it doesn't technically appear as it's not considered a mainline game. Kingdom Hearts: Coded however does appear, since there's no way to actually play the former anymore, I was curious if when editions blend it would have an affect on these kinds of progress trackers? Sorry if it's unclear!
